BREAKING NEWS: NINETEEN NINETY FIVE AND NOWHERE by GARY MARX - 10 years after we released this album (sold out since years on CD format) and due to the non stop popular demand we have decided to re-release the NINETEEN NINETY FIVE AND NOWHERE project by Mister GARY MARX (founding member/guitarist of the Sisters Of Mercy, Ghost Dance ...), this time on a limited 12" vinyl format with a new artwork. Moreover the 10 songs were totally remastered and it gives a new and incredible perspective to the songs.

the label should send me a free copy, as "without whom" this would still be 7 rough demos on a screen-printed cd-r (if you were lucky and cheeky enough to have Mark send you one personally)....
...but i can't begrudge Mr. Marx the pennies in his back pocket really.
be nice if "king of the big black lies" was tucked in there somehow- i know it's not part of the 1995 project but sonically it fits with those songs rather than with the "pretty black dots" stuff.

A double album version would be great, with the second being just instrumental so that we could imagine Von singing instead of Gary!

Yeah, apparently they're waiting for the pressing plant or something.

This is one effect of the resurgence of vinyl unfortunately. Smaller artists have to wait for pressing time while plants run off another 100,000 copies of Brothers in Arms or Sergeant Pepper's
On top of that, it record store day soon, so those plants will have been super busy pressing lame picture discs & goofy coloured vinyl that will end up on evil bay within minutes of the doors opening.

And do the recordings differ much from the CD? ...

No BIG difference. The sound is a bit better, but that´s my personal opinion, and as I am a vinyl fanatic...

After listening to it a few times: good job by the record company, the sound is excellent compared to the CD.
In general, it´s one of my favourite records, and I think Gary Marx is an excellent songwriter. How the material would have sounded as a Sisters album. We don´t know and never will.
would have written his own lyrics and would have done his own style of production work.
Any opinions on Mr Marx´ efforts?
