GW22 - Deadline 11.30 AM Monday 1st January

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Next!

The bonus points haven't been added for today's games yet but there's a whole new GW starting so if you're not going out tonight or having a headache in the morning, check your players. Spurs and West Ham have a double GW. Kane, De Bruyne and Salah are only 75% possibles. Lukaku, Jesus, Ibrahimovic, Dann, Ozil and Xhaka are all done in too. Van Dijk isn't eligible for Liverpool until the FA cup game on Friday against Everton - what a way to start!

& the summary of last GW is here

Fixtures:

Monday 01 January
Brighton 12:30 Bournemouth A thrilling 3-3 draw
Burnley 15:00 Liverpool Likewise
Leicester 15:00 Huddersfield Win for Leicester, Vardy hat trick
Stoke 15:00 Newcastle Stoke redeem themselves a little bit
Everton 17:30 Man Utd Everton win but no Rooney goals

Tuesday 02 January
Southampton 19:45 Crystal Palace Palace go mad
Swansea 19:45 Spurs Spurs go mad again
West Ham 19:45 West Brom A tedious draw
Man City 20:00 Watford Depends who's playing. City might lose.

Wednesday 03 January
Arsenal 19:45 Chelsea A really bad tempered game

Thursday 04 January
Spurs 20:00 West Ham Spurs go mad again again

EMWK has played the wildcard...and if ever a side of mine needed it it was now. more snowflake shaped holes than a swiss (snow) cheese. :innocent:
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Evening. I forgot what week it was, never mind what day. Am doing ok on the year. I know how many weeks until half term! (4)

So let's have a look at those predictions:

Monday 01 January
Brighton 12:30 Bournemouth A thrilling 3-3 draw Nearly. 2-2 and not bad.
Burnley 15:00 Liverpool Likewise Nope. Not quite as good as that.
Leicester 15:00 Huddersfield Win for Leicester, Vardy hat trick. 3 goals, no vardy.
Stoke 15:00 Newcastle Stoke redeem themselves a little bit By losing everything is sight and losing a manager too
Everton 17:30 Man Utd Everton win but no Rooney goals No Everton goals at all, but a Rooney booking Lingard a-gogo

Tuesday 02 January
Southampton 19:45 Crystal Palace Palace go mad Palace won! That counts
Swansea 19:45 Spurs Spurs go mad again Not quie mad, but an upturn for Alli. Kane subbed on after his sniffles
West Ham 19:45 West Brom A tedious draw Hammers win with some Andy Carroll maaagic
Man City 20:00 Watford Depends who's playing. City might lose. Everyone played and Watford got caught in backlash

Wednesday 03 January
Arsenal 19:45 Chelsea A really bad tempered game Pretty darn good, and the best Arsenal have played all year.

Thursday 04 January
Spurs 20:00 West Ham Spurs go mad again again They did, by not scoring 3568359 times. Well matched sides.

City are still miles ahead in the premier Premiership place. Coutinho has left for sunnier climes but Klopp's not in a rush to spend the money. Walcott is on his way somewhere and Coquelin has already gone. City won't pay more than 20m for Sanchez and Hudds have got Pritchard from Norwich. Shame, cos he's been great. Van Dijk has already made a splash at Anfield by scoring the winner in the FA Cup, 10 minutes after I bought him - for a very reasonable price. Arsenal are out of that, and they really do need to concentrate on the league. Wenger is looking more and more isolated, not just because he's in the stands.
Stoke's loss cost Hughes his job. A good few PL teams are facing replays, including Chelsea, who were held by Norwich in a superb effort. Of course, last time this happened Norwich got stuffed in the replay, but gate money...

You shoud read these - players getting trolled on Twitter by their nearest and dearests.

Steve has this week's starter for 10 ready in the Shed.
Tables - BB&S won GW22, and are top over all

Damage Dunfermline still has the Yellow Jersey. It's had a New Year bath.
Image
The Big Shout Out went to Throw Your Foot BC (where this name came from is puzzling me) with a sturdy 64

And the H2H crown is with Mish Mosh.

Was going to give you a nudge, but figured you'd be well into a large glass of vino after the first week back with..... the children
Seems relying on Kane as captain did nobody any favours then. Despite a double game week for him.
So, back to a normal schedule...phew...
Well played all :notworthy: :notworthy:
I am getting some of Nigella's vegan chocolate cake & her cornflake chicken cutlets on the go for nibbles this weekend. Classy huh? :D
Might end up being cheese & onion crisps though.
Cheers.

Just give me crisps. I haven't had any for ages.
I've been gathering evidence for our Church School Inspection, due any minute. You wouldn't believe how many hours of photocopying stuff this entails... none of which benefits the kids at all. IMO.
Yes, i work in a church school....

Not having wine. I've got my pre and during holiday lurgy back.
