Floodland album cover?

I had no strong objection to the cover artwork/photo on the Floodland album/CD, but it was quite unpopular from what I hear/heard.

For me their faces don't belong on the cover.

It did always strike me as a lazy cover & looks better with just the moon there

Funny. I've always found the two faces on the cover quite striking and sufficiently suitable ... not necessarily to my taste, but definitely effective.

Only the water and the moon ... i.e. in that small picture it looks like tarmac and the moon, rather ... hhm ... as a picture not bad for sure ...

But all in all I think their faces give a better impression of the content.

Should look like this and be kept in the glovebox. Case should be scratched to f**k.

^^ Good point.

I like the album image as directly above. ie No Floodland next to the SISTERS name, and the Floodland in the same font as Dominion and This Corrosion.

But, what if you took out Von, Patty AND the moon. And even the SISTERS name, and just put FLOODLAND there. True Goff that!

I have never seen that one before. That is really cool.

To throw my opinion in, the original cover seems indeed to be too obvious with their faces on. Less would be more, as they always had proven before that. Sure it shows the content, but that would be better on the backsite. So it looks like some obscure fanmade bootleg. The next album was again less is more, more or less.

I think a major label trying to put a face to a name could have been an element here.

poor Patsy! take her face off the cover and there's absolutely no contribution to the album from her at all!
