Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Here's a very silly one for you. In the old days, when I was very much paying attention, Von was revered for his wit and intellect. We tried to follow. So we re-christened them The Percy Brothers - The Sisters Of Mercy -> The Sisters Of Percy -> Percy's Sisters -> The Percy Brothers. You get the idea. Were we alone in this or did/ does anyone else have a pet name for the band as a whole, as opposed to just Von/ Eldo/ Mr E?

Yes, I think I have given pet names for bands (not for the Sisters) but I can't recall any of them. On the other hand: I remember one band's name given for a pet - a girl I knew had a black cat Depeche. She was a fan of... the Puppet Show, you know.

I have always called The Sisters The um Sisters. I have called VON a few different things over the years - but I am sure we could say that ;-)

I do remember, way back in 1991 re-writing "Ribbons" with a very close friend of mine called Carl (unfortunaltly he died a couple of years ago of cancer - but thats another story!).

Anyway I digress - I have been thinking of typing this "version" into a post - but I guess the Moderators will have a fit. I also do not wish to offend any of the "sensitive souls" on this fine forum.

As an aside has anybody else sat down and re-written any of Vons material?

Now that made my day. I nearly went cataplexic. On the subject of pet names for the band, there are of course the names of the tribute bands. Obviously there is the world-famous Sisters of Murphy. I once heard of another called the Blisters of Mercy, operating out of Durham, though I never got to see them. Do any others exist?
