Someone doing live updates on a Facebook group has the setlist the same as the other Australian gigs except they have FALAA in between I Was Wrong and Flood II ?

Also no mention of the Instrumental which i'm sure they would have played to give Andrew a break, so maybe better to wait for more confirmation?

Definitely the same set and order. Good gig Von warmed up after monitor and light issues early on.

The instrumental was definitely played, as was Flood II.

Von definitely stared at the lighting guy and mouthed WHAT THE f**k on a few occasions. But he was into it. He was doing all these "evil Thunderbird puppet moves" that really showed his frontman skills are more valuable than his voice. Speaking of which, he actually yelled a couple of times rather than just muttering through the whole thing.

Ben and Dylan excellent. The general vibe seemed to be "better than 2012".

Classic Eldritch quote, after "Better Reptile" and before "FALAA": "... now here's a new one!"

Such a fun gig! The last two gigs’ crowds have reminded me of a show from the early 90’s, both in looks and in a kind of authentic, open enthusiasm. I started this show in a good mood and talked to so many people who were thrilled to be there. Many didn’t think they’d ever get a chance to see the sisters. There was light moshing and one woman who ultimately got anywhere she wanted by feeling up her neighbor until we moved away. Clever.

There were sound/light quirks early on (and for the opening band), but it really wasn’t central to the experience. It was playful and fun, with Flood II as a huge standout, larger than life. Lots of banter and interaction and solid delivery as well. I liked the way that Better Reptile flowed best in the last 3rd of the song and I had a thought about the first third but I got sober for a bit and mostly forgot it. The crowd went crazy for the encores. The women who were singling along with Lucretia before letting it build got, “shhh. You’ll get your turn.â€� 😄

Ben was in great form and I’ve finalized my decision that Dylan is both a gem in his own right and a conduit for great chemistry. No wind machine this time and he didn’t offer up his guitar to the audience (just as well, as I don’t feel like I know him well enough to touch it yet) but all other elements were in full force.

Another really positive review

Thanks for all the reviews (here and in online mags) ... ...

Obviously, the concert in Auckland was loaded with full pleasure and joy ... and most impressing ... ... I'd really loved to have seen it ...

Kind of funny about how one of those reviews was disappointed that the big anthems weren't extended a bit longer. I'm reminded of Von saying (maybe on the website?) that the good Doktor isn't good at adding another verse or chorus on the fly or settling into an extended jam. (Although maybe given modern tech he could be made to do so?)

I was just in a conversation about the ethical/narcissistic differences between falling in love with an existing robot versus programming one to be perfectly suited to you. (It was a long drive...) Now you’ve got me wondering if music will be better or worse when feedback allows the performing robots to alter their output.
