I'll start with Suede's magnificent - (with very stiff competition from Night Thoughts and Dog Man Star) - The Blue Hour

the one i am listening to now -"Bleach" by Nirvana. not the cd reissue with extra tracks but the vinyl lp (unless like me you have moved all the extra tracks to the end of a cd-r version).

The The - soul mining.
Magnificent, pompous, marvelous and great. Full of energy.

the buzzcocks -going steady the singles. a perfect album and considering half of it is b-sides theres not a bad track on it.

motorhead -no remorse (going to bow out of this thread now ok? cool).

neon judgement 81-84

This Mortal Coil - It'll End In Tears.

An album I regularly listen to all the way through, nigh on perfect.

Indeed, this album of Massive Attack is pure gold. I've listened it few months ago, after few long years, it still great, it did get old, sublime sound and production.

The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars

Florence and the Machine - Ceremonials.

Oh hell, there are plenty such albums ... though not necessarily on repeat ...

I for one might begin with Raw Power by Iggy And The Stooges for today ...

Kind of Blue; Miles Davis. Fantastic from start to finish.

The big ones for me are:

Television - Marquee Moon
Killing Joke - 1st
Christian Death - Catastrophe Ballet
Spiritualized - Lazer Guided Melodies

There's other bands that are better, even other LPs that are better, but these are the ones where the start-to-finish journey matters and is something special.

Chris Sheehan, Farewell Cruel Circus (I'm off to join the world). Beautiful, heart-rending, and poignant. Highly recommend.

Momus, Slender Sherbert. A reworking of his Tender Pervert album (and equally good).

Ladytron, Gravity The Seducer. I can listen to this over and over again, and it's at the top of the batting order when I travel.

Johnny Cash, At Folsom Prison.

Mötörhead, Ace of Spades. Unabashed, balls-to-the-wall, rock-'ard 'ead-bangin' choons.

Hawkwind, Hawkwind. Look into your mind's eye, see what you can see.

I've got most of his stuff, I think, but not that. It's funny you mention it, though: I've been listening to the old Starlings records while grading this morning.

Adding 'The Race for Space' by Public Service Broadcasting because it is jolly fine. They performed it last week at the National History Museum, as it's the start of their 50th Moon Landing anniversary. They played in the Main Hall - that lovely Victorian gothy place with the skeleton of Hope the Blue Whale in mid air.

From the last couple of years, I would say the following trio are all killer no filler:

Then Comes Silence - Blood - the natural successors to the 80s/90s alternative/goth bands
Whispering Sons - Image - atmospheric, melodic but intense post-punk from groovy young Belgians
Sonsombre - A Funeral for The Sun - old skool goth FOTN style. New album out (more of the same) next week

The new Rosetta Stone album is also worth a listen if you missed Porl's Miserylab project about a decade ago.
