Zodiac Competition

Ok the Zodiac site is having a lyrics competition. They have to be written in his "style" Not that anyone could ever duplicate what and how he writes...
http://www.zodiac-mindwarp.com/
This is what I came up with off the top of my head... and yes Im at a disadvantage cos I really don't know much about cars!!!
Do I have a chance? Constructive criticism only please, especially from anyone who's written songs...I ususally only do poems.
Loving you wont ever do
Will never be enough
To treat you sweet or treat you rough
Tumble you down til it’s never enough
Hot and wet that’s how you’ll get
Baby baby hearts on fire
Walking here on this barbed wire
Baby baby hearts on fire
Nothing like jail bait desire
Nothing like a royal f**k
A long and hard deep throated suck
Hard and wild sweet baby child
I’ll show you love all through the night
My godlike cock for your delight
Baby baby hearts on fire
Walking here on this barbed wire
Baby baby hearts on fire
Nothing like jail bait desire

Shooting stars like a nuclear warhead
I'm off to pick the Saturn of your love
I leave the bigots on the floor, dead
The smell of triumph on my latex glove

I think ZM are way past their sell by-date, but feel free to use my stuff in case you like it. Use the fire/desire rhyme with extreme caution, btw, or you'll end up being Hammerfall. Here's a more car-oriented verse for you:
Thrusting pistons, oily valves
Revving up my machine to eleven
Burning out into your greasy halves
As the rubber smoke rises to heaven

Oh, about 2 miles from where I'm 'working' and typing this.
Also I haven't a clue what you're talking about. I saw the title to the thread and thought 'read your stars, enter a competition and win a lawnmower.' Oh well.

Nope. Tried to win that last week on the tell a Killing Joke @ Rock City thread, but then realised it was nothing to do with getting your big break in stand-up comedy.

Well I did it today. I sent my entry to the competition. I can't believe I really did it. But Zodiac himself will end up reading it....so I guess that's good..if not down right embarrassing.
And at least he will know I AM alive....unlike Andrew who doesn't yet know who I am.
Here it is: [no laughing!!]
Hearts on Fire
Loving you wont ever do
Will never be enough
To treat you sweet or treat you rough
Tumble you down til it’s never enough
Hot and wet that’s how you’ll get
Baby baby hearts on fire
Walking here on this barbed wire
Baby baby hearts on fire
Nothing like jail bait desire
Nothing like a royal f**k
A long and hard deep throated suck
Hard and wild sweet baby child
I’ll show you love all through the night
My godlike cock for your delight
Baby baby hearts on fire
Walking here on this barbed wire
Baby baby hearts on fire
Nothing like jail bait desire
Engines roar just like a whore
I’ll make you scream for more and more
Starry skies dream spirit divine
This god is gonna make you mine
Heaven’s light gonna ignite spasm
Baby baby hearts on fire
Walking here on this barbed wire
Baby baby hearts on fire
Nothing like jail bait desire

@ Black Planet - thats a great entry - I feel you are in with a great chance to win.
I too also thought this was a "Win a prize because of your Star Sign" thread!

No it 's not really.
It is a competition, to be judged by the band 24 October. The prize is art work and some autographed merch. Thanks for your encouragement. It's hard to write like He does and maintain a sense of individuality...and not plagerise!! And really, that's not my style of poetry/lyric writing at all!!!!

Since you didn't make use of my humble lines, I submitted an entry of my own. It's called "Cobalt-69".
Shooting stars like a nuclear warhead
I'm off to pick the Saturn of your love
I leave the bigots on the floor, dead
The smell of triumph on my latex glove
Rip the curl off your tidal waves
Kicking jams all over the place
Ride the crest of your pipeline burstin'
I pick your cards in mysterious ways
Thrusting pistons, oily valves
Revving up my machine to eleven
Burning out into your greasy halves
As the rubber smoke rises to heaven
Rip the curl off your tidal waves
Kicking jams all over the place
Ride the crest of your pipeline burstin'
Your backdoor grinning to my poker face
Climb onto my magic carpetbomb ride
Wake up and feel the napalm smell
Baby Panzerfaust, swallow my pride
Love potion that will take you to hell
Rip the curl off your tidal waves
Kicking jams all over the place
Ride the crest of your pipeline burstin'
Double jackhammers, single red ace
I've only heard the "Tattooed Beat Messiah" album. Maybe my faint recollection of the lyrics has given me an entirely wrong impression of ZM's style. Oh, well.

Oh MY GOD! That's good. You put me to shame! Now I know I'll never win.... but hey, HE is gonna read my song!!! And that is soooo Cool!!!
As for using your lyrics...I wanted to see what I came up with myself. But you sure do the car thing well! Good luck, you may just win!!
Oh and I Am Rock has some lyrics that aren't so Z-like. For instance, Call Me Baby ( I love it when you call me Baby, I love it when you call my name) and Jane in Blue (Jane in blue I'm in love with you) two songs I like alot. Hence mine was written with them in mind.

I took 3rd place in this competition!!!!
I am getting artwork inscribed by Zodiac and Cobalt!!!! If you knew how happy I am at this moment...
The following is from his web page @
http://www.zodiac-mindwarp.com/
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last night Zodiac Mindwarp and The Love Reaction and a democratically elected committee of international subculture superheroes gathered together to judge entries to the 2003 Rawling Prize Art Competition.
Everyone was impressed by the level of effort all entries showed and a sincere thank you to everyone who participated. A lot of filthy laughs were heard, raised eyebrows witnessed and the standard of entries was so close between the final three, everyone was obliged to drink alcohol to garner the courage to make the fateful decision.
But made it was - and without further ado, here are the winning entries:
FIRST PRIZE:
Large ink drawing, courtesy of the very generous Rik Rawlings, and one copy of f**ked by Rock, courtesy of Creation Books- both personally inscribed by Zodiac and Cobalt.
WINNER: Randy Mindwarp & Kobblers Arsegazer
AKA Neill Tupman (& accomplice?) of Crawley, West Sussex
SONG: THE BITCHFIST EP - although some of the songs were rather 'medical' in their terminology...for sheer gutsy effort for creating an *entire* mini album comprising 4 songs and a cover...this was a clear winner.
SECOND PRIZE:
Large ink drawing, courtesy of the very generous Rik Rawlings, and one European Tour T-Shirt, courtesy of Creation Books - both personally inscribed by Zodiac and Cobalt.
WINNER: Nicky J Babe, of Beckenham, Kent
SONG: SEX BOMB BABY BLOW
THIRD PRIZE:
Small ink drawing, courtesy of the very generous Rik Rawlings, pesonally inscribed by Zodiac and Cobalt.
WINNER: Valerie Freeman, Maryland U.S.A.
SONG: HEARTS ON FIRE
Prizes will be despatched in the next week. Thank you to everyone who took part, and a massive thank you to both the artist RIK RAWLINGS (visit his site) for his generosity in donating the prizes and to CREATION BOOKS (visit their site) for the merchandise
Thank you all for your congratulatory words.
I was at my office when I checked my mail..and thank god it was Saturday and no one was about to hear me ..LOL say OH MY GOD!! Really loud. I phoned Mr. P and one of my best girlfriends to share the news!
I have never ever won anything in my life. You all laugh at my poetry..unlike my friends at Cult Web who have encouraged my endeavors in writing poems.
I have to thank Romi...for all her kind words and encouragement! And a guy from Brasil named JayRob too. XX OO to them both.
Ok my 15 minutes have passed. I am a happy girl.
hugs all,
Planet
