On 23rd October 1980 New Model Army played their first gig; it has been a wonderful, long, creative and eventful forty-year journey!

We had planned a lot of things to mark our 40th birthday, most of which have necessarily been postponed into next year, but by way of celebration we will be doing a one-off concert on the 24th October 8pm (GMT) this year, which will be performed live and be broadcast online simultaneously around the world – a shared experience for everyone who has ever loved the band.

The concert will be a high-quality, pay-to-view, two-hour (plus) event filmed with multi-cameras, graphics and artwork - with the band playing a wide range of material spanning the 40 years. We will be selling tickets at £10 for which you will be sent an exclusive code to access the broadcast in the hours before the show. There will also be the opportunity to buy an ‘enhanced ticket’ which will include an exclusive Joolz-designed T-shirt to mark the occasion – these will be available in different sizes, up to four shirts per ticket – as we know (and hope) that people will watch in family groups.

given how pally justin and eldritch are these days i'd be surprised if they haven't at least spoken about how you make something like this happen.

i'll stress that i have no knowledge of anything like it, but personally speaking it wouldn't really surprise me, assuming there is still some kind of lockdown or social distancing thing in place in feb next year.

I have said in the past that Justin was the man for Von to talk to about recording and releasing records in today's world too.

My youngest adores NMA but hates The Girls and The Mish. He met Justin at the Leeds and Manchester gigs in the last few years and had a good natter with him, though he failed badly when he was talking to Marshall Gill in Clitheroe but failed to recognise him

Yup t-shirts and tickets ready and looking forward to it. I've not been drinking for a few weeks and was intending starting again tomorrow, but have a slight worry of getting over-excited and being pissed before it starts!

Took the plunge and finally got around to getting a ticket for this.

Now I just await the email with access details.

Mine arrived at about 11am and positioned itself in my spam folder as predicted. So tonight it's mostly NMA on the big screen and LFC muted on the iPad.
