New music discoveries

I don't know about the rest of you, but I get proper fed up of hearing radio shows regurgitating that classic song for the billionth time. As a good friend used to say (to me a lot actually) "Other music is available."
& it's true. Good music at that. Over the course of the global lurgy situation I've managed to discover so much brilliant new music. Well, brilliant to me anyway. YMMV.
So, rather then sink all those awesome discoveries in the currently listening to thread, I thought it might be nice for everyone to perhaps give nods to new acts, recent discoveries etc &, given how fcuked over the industry's been without being able to go on the road until recently (not to mention radio completely ignoring them), maybe folks would be tempted to give a bit of love back to some of the bands that would normally never get a look in on commercial radio just because the DJ has been told to play Radiohead for the trillionth time.
I'm going to jump right in with this lot.

Ghost Woman

Think BRMC/ Mary Chain/ Fireflies

So what's floating your boat recently?

Radio means work for me, which means it means 'smooth radio'. No need to elaborate further. At home, game soundtracks by and large, currently Elder Scrolls Online / Skyrim, last month a load of superb electro tunes from the Cyberpunk 2077 radio stations, in particular the tracks by Le Destroy. Most recent newly discovered band I heard out and about in the world who resonated deep in my core were I Like Trains.

I know their manager, if it's still the same one... must drop him a line. Disappointed to not be at Sisters when they supported.

Loved the way the songs built towards a glorious tight perfectly played racket-crescendo, the last one basically a full rave :notworthy:

Crystal Canyon
If you are partial to a bit of quality shoegaze, this will be right up your street.
30 seconds into my first listen of Pollyanna made every hair on my body stand on end

60 seconds in & I had bought everything they had on their bandcamp page

The Truth is.... I thought they were great.

Awful name though, I've probably skipped them in the past just based on that.

I thought I've heard everything tried in extreme music but this vocalist Will Ramos beats all.
For the few HLers still remembering me, you know this is gonna get heavy as a really heavy thing...

Sweden represent. One of the worst band names ever possibly/likely has obscured one of the greatest sleaze pop/rock bands ever.

Great stuff. The guitar on this one always reminds me of The Sisters doing Ghostrider.

And it's a lovely t-shirt - RIP Benjamin Vallé.

Thank you for introducing me to what may well be my new favorite band. Well, maybe I shouldn’t go that far - but I’m buying their records and love it all so far. This stuff really scratches a very specific itch (that, nonetheless, I cannot accurately describe).

You may also like Les Big Byrd - I believe some of the members also time share with both bands.

First time I've ever heard of them. That is brilliant. I love this forum already.

If you can listen to this and not rock out you are clinically dead.
