Interview with Andrew in the "Illinois Entertainer"

Post your reviews of Sisters-related material or interviews with Sisters-related musicians here. And don't believe the hype: 1985 most definitely is a fashion statement.

...and bloody hell, this time I think I really am the first to post it!

Some interesting stuff in there about how he earns a dollar, which largely blows my theories in another thread out of the water regarding his need to make a buck from the band.

This is a really good one. Not so optimistic about the new record, but very entertaining along the way. Sounds like AE likes the same books as me, which is nice.

Wow, he's really talkative in this one!
Maybe due to the interviewer's questions
We all know words and languages are his thing but able to read in 12 to 15 languages
My favourite part though is near the end when he talks about his cat :D
Somehow I love him a little bit more now  :von:
I have seen The Sisters at The Paradiso. I will die happy
With massive thanks to Ruffers for his company and help.

Thank you for posting ... a lovely read ... :D :D :D ...

I definitely like his carpets. Also it's good to know that I'm not the only person with a long, long list of interesting books to read ... ...

It's nice to hear he's still that close with Chris, sad about his friends that passed though. I thought the interview was going to go all wrong when it started with star sign stuff.
And I’ve got other stuff to do, man. I’ve been watching a lot of anime.
Oh...

Really important stuff from this interview, apart from the revelation that he's an avocado magnate:

- he's still good friends with Chris Catalyst
- he did the music for Paris Fashion Week a couple of years ago (?!?)
- there's a demo version of This Corrosion which "really swings"
- Jim Steinman was trying to sue him at the end of his life
- he feels the current material is the best he's ever done (bold statement!)

On the avocado thing, they don't grow those around Leeds or Hamburg, do they?

Cool interview by a bold interviewer passionately talking himself about cultural stuff he likes, I can see how that went well with Andrew!
I do think he's very good at languages but with a liberal interpretation of having conversations in 7-8 and reading 12 to 15. But yeah basic talk and getting the point of a text, absolutely, since many European languages are so similar.
Anyway the avocado and fruit thing was clearly the most exciting and interesting revelation here  guess it's where the cat photos on the home page are from. Somewhere on the Spanish Mediterranean coast, I even think he has said it somewhere long ago.

Very nice read, not bad for a fruit farmer ;D
There is increasing evidence to suggest that Chris may have been being sarcastic.

No. You can grow the plant to a remarkable size only from only the stone on your balcony in summer ... but the winter is mostly too cold for them to survive ... :) ....

To narrow down your research for the plantation. Europe's largest avocado-growing area is located in Malaga province, especially around La Vinuela reservoir :innocent:

amused me no end to hear he owns an international avocado empire! and that, boy and girls, finally answers all those endless (and endlessly dull) questions about "surely he must need the money enough to release an album". random as fuck though.

Finally makes sense why it was so important for Andrew that Dylan could drive a truck "Yeah your new riff sounds great, but more importantly remember on next Monday is the orange loading as usual, ok?" ;D

The consensus on Facebook is that, while avocados may be goth, citrus certainly isn't.

I guess guacamole is a g-word, so fair enough. So, he grows fruit that might get turned into guacamole, and he reads the Guardian. Busted mate.

Christ, that's one self-involved interviewer (and one who could really use a decent editor). "I was reading H.P. Lovecraft at age seven."? "Are you into all the pulp authors, like I am"?? WHO GIVES A CRAP how the interviewer gets his news?

Very true, I cringed.
But to his credit he did manage to get some interesting content out of Eldritch. So I'd say it worked.
