some kind of introduction

Hello everyone.
I don't know whether there's one specific thread dedicated to introducing oneself/saying hello, I exist, would love to get to know you folks (something of that sort) - so I'm making my own little thread (hopefully not spamming your lovely forum).
I've been listening to The Sisters thanks to my dad. It will be a decade in a year and although comparing to the experience of so many of you, it's not that long - well, my life (literally) would be way different today if it wasn't for them. Thanks to their music (and very probably Andrew's influence as well yeah) I've confirmed my love for languages and got immersed in the English language and literature (also searching for words like eldritch and banshee in a yellowed dictionary - cool times; my English tutor knew TSOM, too). I remember reading TSOM's biography by Andrew Pinnell that my dad had bought back in the 90s (Polish edition, by Rock Serwis and there was Tomasz Beksiński's review of their first concert in Poland in 1991 - who remembers Tomek, let me know! The fragment of This Corrosion lyrics was not translated so kudos for Monika Kosior, a translator who respects Andy's laws  )
So yeah. Then writing stories whilst listening to TSOM, I now write poetry in English and I'm thinking about publishing a poetry book at some point. I met my future husband at their concert (Progresja, May 15, 2022) and got married in The Sisters of Mercy t-shirt a month ago :D I also need to come back to playing bass guitar as their songs made me realise bass is so badass and cool.
Without the influence of The Sisters, definitely my life would be worse. And I don't want to imagine it.
Sorry for such a long, sloppy introduction - I don't know many people who know TSOM - it would be so nice to get to know you! Hopefully I'll be able to decipher the forum and post more :bat:
Cheers
Maria

Welcome. Abridged likes poets! If you're so inclined there's a submission call out for our Lilith issue...

There's usually a Sisters reference hidden in our magazines and projects somewhere...or on occasion not hidden at all. ;D

Hi! That would be brilliant, thanks ever so much :bat: I will look into it soon. And Sisters references are the best 8)
Now that I think about it, I did refer to them in a poem or two. Also wrote a poem heavily inspired by Driven Like the Snow - Andrew's lyrics has always been inspiring (and thanks to him I got to know some authors - mentioned here and there in interviews; there's also this amazing list on their website with members' favourite books).
So nice to meet you!

Hello from another newbie (in this forum, not with the Sisters), residing in Vienna, so not that far away. Well, kind of.

The Sisters are always a good influence while growing up, as I experienced myself (cough) - great to have you on the forum!

Hello - same with me, Sisters've been in my life since I was 15 and gosh, whatever has been happening around me, they seem to get me back on the right track. Eldritch would probably laugh it off, but I swear I think they've brought me up to be a pretty decent human being, saved my arse countless times and made me believe in myself when I couldn't myself.
And yeah, Vienna is not that far away! It's good to know there are people close by :) It's so nice to meet you & let's hope exploring the forum will be a great experience.

This isnt a facist dictatorship Hawkfall (although there are some disturbing rumours regarding @Pista cos-playing the milkmaid and the tank kommander) -you could have made your own intro thread and all the moaning bastards who might once have had a flaccid curmudgeon over it are departed/ banned/ brown bread.

Regardless, Welcome To Heratland. :von:
