Your ideal Sisters Setlist

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Personally I would like it with the 1990 lineup as some of the gigs were fantastic. But that ain't never gonna happen. I still think they need a bassist though instead of the Dok doing it.

Couldn't really put together a full set list, but songs I would like to hear them play again would include Heartland, Adrenochrome, A Rock And A Hard Place and Gimme Shelter (as in the 83 to 85 version, not the botch job from the 90s).

Current sets are pretty much spot on, with the exception of FALAA (opinion here seems pretty much unanimous) and Temple (just gimme the first half, please). I like the occasional "random plundering from the back catalogue" we've been getting since 96 or so, you're always guaranteed a nice surprise for any given tour (Blood Money, I Was Wrong, Neverland, Flood I).

Songs that have never been played before but would work nicely include Colours, Rain From Heaven, Phantom (AKA Von Takes A Leak).

Songs I'm utterly sick of include Ribbons, Flood II, This Corrosion (unless they bring back the guitar feedback MBV-type intro), Amphetamine Logic and the 2 medleys.

Adam really needs to do something about his backing vocals. Sometimes I need to clutch at something solid, they can be really dreadful.

A new cover version is long overdue - might I stick my neck out and suggest Baba O'Reilly? That would be good!
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

I was gonna add mine, but noticed you'd already posted it, Scardy. How peculiar. Maybe throw Heartland and Neverland in there as well. Otherwise, that's pretty much it.

Adrenochrome (as in accordance with local by-laws)

That should suffice. Hope you can arrange it soon, preferably in a small pub in Belfast. Fridays or Saturdays are fine. Thanks!

I can't be arsed thinking of a full setlist, but would include (in no paticular order)-

Teachers/Adrenochrome
Gimme Gimme Gimme
This Corrosion (7"version- I hate it when bands play long versions of songs at the expense of playing 2 or 3 shorter songs. The m*****n were especially guilty of this with Tower Of Strength which seemed to get longer and longer and longer.)
Temple Of Love (short version)

2nd Encore would be a stonking mashup of Sister Ray/Louie Louie/Ghostrider, played as it was played in the 80's, not the horrible versions we've been treated to in the 90's.

3rd Encore (after around 10 minutes when half the audience has left) - Home Of The Hit Men.

Nah, just the regular 30 second version. I think it'd suit Eldritch's sense of humour to come back onstage 10 min after a 2nd encore, do Home Of The Hit Men, then bugger off again.

For what it's worth, my dream Sisters gig would be:

INTRO - Dr. Who theme
Temple of Love
Dr. Jeep (I also love this song!)
Kiss the Carpet
Alice
Burn
Valentine
My Heartland
Body Electric
Adrenochrome
Dominion/Mother Russia
Flood 1/Flood 2 (medley)
Lucretia
Giving Ground
Driven like the Snow
Colours
1959 (Just Von on piano! magic!)

ENCORE
Damage Done
Watch
Top Nite Out
Vision Thing

Note the complte lack of FALAA songs, and very little post-floodland stuff.
