Just wondering...

Could anyone tell me what is the best 2003 recording so far?

Cheers,

DIEGO

I've got Glasgow, Bristol & Furth, I'd say Bristol is the best.

The Bristol one that Solitude recorded is great . That one and my copy of the Leeds Sunday show are both very good .

Either Leeds show are toppermost quality. Dam is also excellent, but does have skips between tracks (mine does, anyroad). Oh yeah, both Forum shows are very fine too.

I've got Bristol, and it is very good, but I also have Berlin, and I'd say that was better...

Red,

I'll do you a copy of my Dam CDR if you like. Like I say, there are gaps between each song, but if you don't care about such things, as I don't, the quality is very good indeed. Takes me back every time I stick it on. Sigh.

I really want a copy of the Good Friday at the Forum gig. Would anyone be willing to copy it for me?

So do I. Mainly because it was Mrs JB's first and only Sisters gig to date. As the boot collection grows, I'm constantly reminded of the fact that 'you haven't bothered to get a copy of the show WE went to ...' :urff: HELP!

I am currently still looking for the Düsseldorf Bootleg ... anyone an idea where I can find? Looking on ebay for it since ages, can't find it.

Yes, the quality might be bad (the sound at the Phillipshalle was very bad) but since I visited that gig with someone special, I would really have it to be able to remember that night with fitting sound.

after a bit of fiddling with iTunes, Amsterdam takes it for me, cheers Dave :notworthy: managed to omit the gaps when playing from the hard drive, soon as I burn it the gaps return :x We are getting new G5s installed in the work tomorrow and Friday, will pester the techies for any tips.

The CD burn apps usually have a setting for the pause between tracks, normally defaulted at 2 s. Poke around in the preferences in Toast, or whatever prog you use to make your CD:s. In Nero for Windows, it's embedded in the properties for each track. Try selecting all tracks and right-click, or the Apple equivalent of it.

Keep in mind that you still may get "pops" between the tracks even if you set the burn to disc-at-once with no second gaps. You may need to string the tracks together as a .wav, edit out the blank parts (the silence, what becomes the pops), and then add index markers for each track if you want them.

A bit of drudge work, but worth the effort in my opinion.

John,

The iTunes has the 2 sec default, look under edit/preferences/cd burning and set it to none. Btw when playing it in iTunes from the harddrive, it tends to string the tracks together in my experience. Did you edit the audio tracks? The only way IMHO. Use Spark XL myself for doing this. G5 eh, nice!

Best bootleg so far from 03 must be the DAT recording from fürth 03. Recorded with a Sony TCD-D100 and coresound HEB with bass filter. The sound is really great, even better then the DAT recordings from Leeds 03.

Cheers Karst, the techies weren't much help I'm afraid, just told me to burn on Toast Titanium and tell it to remove gaps, I intend to try that tonight. The G5's are astounding machines especially when coupled to a 23" Sony flat screen, nearly makes it worth going to work 5 days a week.

I'm thoroughly jealous now with my G4 400Mhz and CRT. Toast is probably more reliable but might leave you the dreaded plops. Good luck.
