Already answered this in the Alice poll - I'm perverse that way.

Got to be the 84 version.

first one I heard was on the CNT compilation so I guess that would be 82, much more manic than the later one

I do ...

but I accidentically forgot to mention I preferred the 84 version ...

I just can't explain why.

82

the angriest song i've ever heard..

the 84 version is too tinny, but the 82 recording rocks like a motherf**ker.

84

I'm just annoyed I couldn't get to choose the demo, instrumental or alternative lyrics versions. :innocent:

82 cause the end of the 84 version ending on the D chord just sucks.

I have no idea why this bothers me so much, but it does.

OK QB. Am I stupid or can I only see the results when I'm not logged in?

The 84 version is 24 track - the 82 version is 8 track - I much prefer the 84 version - a much "bigger" sound - and its almost 20 years old! :-)

It totally kicks live. The studio versions can't touch it. Hope they bring it back on the next tour.

82 for the mad energy and Von's voice sounding weird on it. OK, I buy the arguments about the 84 version sounding bigger and all, but it lacks the spark (pun intended).

Hey, this one is interesting. I have a real soft spot for 84. As a spotty teenager, just getting into the Sisters, Body and Soul was the first Sisters 12" I ever bought, and I can still smell the amazing smell, and smell the crackly crackle. I really like the cover. I never much liked Body and Soul, or Train for that matter (though in other mixes, and live, it kicks). But Afterhours and the rerecorded Body Electric were like nothing I had heard before. I think I was 17. It was manna from heaven. Therefore I must cast my vote accordingly.

Well that's that argument won then. 84 it is. Well done my team. Another victory for the first-past-the-post two-party system.
