I dunno what you think about this woman, but i simply love her style, her music, her voice, the lyrics, her presence in the stage.. well.. everything.
I'm really happy to know that 2 double album releases out December 1.
"Defixiones, Will and Testament"
"La Serpenta Canta"
I'm anxious to see her concert again....

In that time of course she just screamed. But try to listen now. She don't scream anymore, she has a beautiful voice, very powerful.Dan wrote:I saw her on The Tube (for those overseas readers- It's a music show) in around 1984. She looked like Nina Hagen with bigger hair and she didn't sing, she just screamed and screamed. Truly awful, quite scary too!

I've seen her twice; once on the Malediction and Prayer tour and once on the Defixiones, Will and Testament one. Really powerful performances.
This is a good summary, I think:

if I am not mistaken, and in this occasion I am not, she made an album with John Paul Jones ex Zeppelin, within the last 4 years.
anyone know what it sounds like?

That would be 'The Sporting Life' which came out in '94/'95 and some of it is a rather standard rock album with a smattering of the blues. Galas tames herself down and nearly sounds like a demonic Bette Midler on "Do You Take This Man", otherwise....vocally, it's what one would expect from her.
