Winter is here

...and it's a bit chilly in New York. I could grumble about the cold, but on days like this, in times like these I think back to what a real winter is like, courtesy of my hometown:

(those humps are cars, by the way)

Don't ever let anyone tell you that Buffalo is too scary, dirty, and depressing to be a family vacation spot. Remember, you don't need to pay for lift tickets, because you can ski in the streets in April.

Beautiful!

But I'd rather continue to spend my winters looking at this -

I'd kill to be able to see that in the winter. Just rub it in, then.

The best we could manage in the North of Scotland was a heavy frost this morning.

Global warming affects the entire globe, apart from Buffalo and Scotland. I spent a week in Inverness one late July, and it must have been forty degrees (Fahrenheit), tops.

Isn't 'Fahrenheit,' like, the weirdest word you've ever seen?

Also to ALL of you - get the next person you speak to say "Plinth" - and watch their mouth/tongue - sexy isn't it :-)
