This quite simple, and probably going to be a white-wash, but it has to be done. Hopefully someone will take notice.

I don't think the old one is as bad as some people have argued, especially if you sit down and listen to it at home. But whilst it sounds very nice under those condition, this still requires you to put out of your head what was already a spiffing rocking beast of an intro. So I've voted for No: if it ain't broke...

I vote for neither. This song makes me want to Riverdance, and that's always a bad sign.

apparently, the guitar intro and main riff for FALAA existed a good while before the rest of the song that ended up as "red skies disappear", and even longer before herr eldritch had written and finished the final lyrics that became FALAA.
before they had any kind of title for it they referred to it as "the scottish song"
i dunno if its because of the celtic riff though... am sure "1959 and all that" would attribute some kind of macbeth connection to it

The original - first time I ever heard it I hadn't a clue what the f**k was going on. It's a total killer live with that pounding drum machine before the riff starts up too.

I reckon the new intro is one of the highlights of the last tour's weeds, sometimes you can improve on a classic. Don't fear change.

That's 'cause the Sisters no longer play in the US of A.
Sorry, Sinny.
Basically, it refers to the revamped "rock" intro used live by Mr Pearson.

Ah... Thanks, Erudite!
Dammit! Anyone have a boot (containing the aforementioned new intro) lying around that they'd be willing to share?

The first time I heard it I thought they were playing "Gimme Gimme Gimme". I wish they had, cos I prefer the old intro.
