The only new oddity at Heartland which I have noticed today is that forums in the index, some forums will be marked as having unread messages, but when I enter the respective forums, there is nothing new. Refreshing does not make a difference. If I notice it later as well, I will report is as a bug.
As for multiple posts: If nobody else has posted after you, you still have the option to delete your message, yes? I once had my connection hiccup and ended up with duplicate posts, but I could get rid of the second without much effort.

Martin,
I feel ashamed that I have never noticed the 'edit' feature, Doh!

We all just assumed that you were trying to pad you post count.

Actually, if you look to the right of the edit button, two buttons over in fact, there is a delete button. It is available if your post is still the last one in the thread. If someone else has posted, you still can go back and edit a post, just not delete it. At least I think that that is the case.

I'd prefer calling it: "It's the doktor vs. Adam vs. Chris". Just because my sister always claimed it would be Sirens vs. Guitars.

It's not that I don't like it... but it's still one you can go to the bar to.
