Suggestions?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I promised to make a compliation of "Sisters new tracks" to one of our good mates. Could anybody suggest me certain versions of certain songs I might use (if i have these certain gigs)? I think it's quite easy talking about "Bei Mir Bist Du Schön" or "Confide In Me" because they exist only on a couple of boots but... I have some problems in choosing the best possible version of "Crash And Burn" or "Top Nite Out / Snub Nose"...
Of course, I'll do the final decision by myself (and it depends on what recordings I do have) but you, my friends, could make it easier for me and maybe with your hints our mate will not wate too much anymore...

(I know, my request could seem strange... but I'm a Libra - i. e. I have problems with making final decisions

Don't take the last sentence too serious :) )

Thanks in advance :notworthy:

If you've gotta copy of the Berlin 2003 gig, you could send him/her that, as you're on the recording? :D

Yes, I have the Berlin 2003 and as far as I remember I liked it myself, too.
Any other suggestions?
By the way, does anybody remember (my old head and poor memory, damn! :urff: ) any version of "Romeo Down" where the voice in the speakers doesn't turn out bad (if you know, what I mean) during the "Romeo Doooooooooooooooown!!!" words?

going for quaility over quanitity

both of Wayne's Leeds gigs, with the stonking new Marian :notworthy: :notworthy:

Furth the Dat version :notworthy: :notworthy:

Easier to get hold of

Visions at the forum ( or at least my version. i've heard differing reports)

Super Rock 1998

Below Zero 1999

Dunno if you have them, but IMHO they're the best around
Just remember this. This rabble you keep talking about does most of the working, paying and dying in this community.

I've got most of the 2003 gigs, also both Leeds ones, but I'm afraid that not these versions. And no Fürth :urff:
Yes, I have "Below Zero" and "Visions At The Forum".
But what's Super Rock 98? :?
Actually my own last idea was to take Berlin 2003 or one of the London 2003 ones (of Big Si weeding versions) and add some songs ("Confide In Me", "Comfortably Numb / Some Kind...", "Bei Mir...", "I Wanna Be Sedated" etc) to the second CD.
Or 16 II 2001 + additional tracks? This case I have to add more songs (new "Lucretia", new "I Was Wrong", "Slept" etc).
What do you think about those ideas?
Thanks in advance

personally, i think "i wanna be sedated" is horrible :? but "sugar baby love rocks" :notworthy: :notworthy:

Super rock is nothing special, it has a sister ray thing on the end, but generally it's just good+ quality. :?

'I Have Slept With All The Girls In Berlin' Leeds 26-4-03 version is best (of all two versions I own).
All my 'Romeo Down's' distort (think Mr. E loses the plot at the end of that one or the sound crew are too spaced out to keep up) come on? it's far from tuneful Heartlanders.

Willing to mp3 'Girls In Berlin' if needs must Pik, PM me.

Interestingly enough I was also toying with the idea of a Sisters live compilation 1983-2003, to send to friends as an xmas present. 'The Sisters Of Mercy - A Brief History Over Time'. Then they'd have to listen to it! :D

I'll have a listen tonight (some of us work during the day, allegedly) but I doubt I've got anything the great Pikkrong doesn't! :notworthy:

I'll second Visions At The Forum. If you can find any of the 97 versions of War On Drugs, use one of them (quality permitting), that arrangement was better, IMHO.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

I'm a Libran, and I also have issues with completion and letting go. No, I know that doesn't help much.

LOL I think we all have toyed with that idea. It would take a joint effort I think, cause I can't listen to everything I have now, let alone decide which versions are better than others! Good luck tho.

The huge number of messages in the forum doesn't make an idiot great
If I could, I changed the amount of my posted messages with the same number of different Sisters recordings

Regarding 1997 War On Drugs, Manc Apollo (Absolute Proof) is top quality sound and recording-wise. And yes, the arrangement is 'better', possibly.

Are you sure you didn't mean "pisipakk" (=small parcel)?
Because "p*ss" in Estonian is the same as "p*ss" in English ;D

(And I possibly don't have to explain what's "sitt" :innocent: :innocent: :innocent: )

Red Geezer,

me no unnerstand. Howzabout I simply copy the CD for you. SOOO much easier. Best PM me your address again, I blitzed my mailbox the other day, leaving only a select few PMs in there. No offence, none were yours.

The show is excellently recorded, but if memory serves the gig was as pants as the Sisters can get, and only Blood Money and Jolene (not on the CD) saved it. Forum II in 98 restored my faith, however.
Awww.
