You've got a good point there, but I can't help thinking if it was on this theme it would not be quite so triumphant & approving in tone.

I think most of the triumphant and approving bits are 'we'-stuff. We got the empire, as opposed to: empire down, once a railroad and so on. But I don't know. It is friday. I'm outta here.

I'd like to expand on this, but I can't quite put my finger on it at the moment. But still, the thought keeps recurring in my head.
