Web Site Graphics

Can anyone recommend a good package for creating web site graphics?
I've been bodging around with photoimpression 4 for a while but it just
isn't letting me do what I want:
The above was supposed to look like a steel plate but looks more like a gravestone!
Obviously, engraved lettering instead of embossed would be a start.
Also looking for a site with good free "industrial" clipart - cogs, pistons, motorcycle chains.
Any suggestions?
Cheers.

In my book for effects like you're after ye cannae beat Photoshop, it's no cheap tho man. It does come bundled with ImageReady (if you want to do any animated Gifs). Also worth signing up to an Adobe Expert Centre for afficianados of Photoshop who post galleries of effects they have created with downloadable actions to recreate them yourself.
Sales pitch over now, and no, I do not work for Adobe

ummm... pay money for photoshop? it'll never catch on
download it. i got mine from soulseek - took 3 days with my weak and abused 56k connection - but works just fine.
i think to get the effects you need you'll have to download some brushes too - i've seen al sorts of ones for free download, chinese symbols, gravestones, flowers... never seen any cogs or anything like that - but i'm sure if you look round for long enough you'll find them (try searching google/yahoo/whatever) for "download free photoshop brushes"

Adobe Photoshop. Has a nice 'chrome' effect which is what you are looking for, I think. Combine thet with a 'relief' effect and you're prolly there. Experiment!
Woud def do the trick, as far as I'm concerned!

I took the liberty to try something with the logo.
I started from scratch, and did not have the font you used, but it's the effect that counts eh...
Enjoy

I can do you a copy of the original CD version of FALAA too, if you need it/want it?

Cool, Izzy - as you'll see, I'll soon have photoshop for mesel' thanks to Quiffy.
I am thinking of a more engraved effect, possibly on to a razor blade, though maybe that's just a bit too much "pink and white and steely blue"
for comfort...

might look familiar to users of the "industrial groove machine" theme

its worth pointing out that the background jpg tiles very nicely, and i can get you a copy of it sans text, so you can drop your own logo over it, when you have one, if you want?

Yeah, that sounds good - even if I don't ultimately use it, it gives me something else to play arround wi'.
Thanx.
