a trade gone bad

(Disclaimer: i'm not writing this so as to warn anyone or for any "good" reason but only because since i got the idea i've been unable to shake it off, so if anything this is merely a ritual of exorcism on my part)
i had a trade with Petseri. Everything was agreed upon, and i sent my package. A couple of weeks later he tells me he received it and is soon going to send me mine (sic). Only there's a problem, he asks what should we do because he's not happy with what i sent.
When we agreed about the trade, he wanted to make sure that the gigs were good quality. But basically, the problem here is with one gig (there was 3, and one i gave him for an empty cd-r). i had told him it's made of mp3s, but doesn't have gaps. Well, i was wrong. It had gaps. i had only thought of removing them instead of having done it, and then i'd forgotten about it, so it was a long time since i had listened to it and thought it's fine (it's good quality in other regards). So he wanted compensation of some sort, judging from his question 'what should we do?'.
i was a bit angry, i had waited for his gigs for a week already and only now found out that he hadn't even sent them yet (he told me about problems with his burner, which may or may not be true, if it was true he could've told me about it earlier). So i basically told him that what's going to happen is he's going to send me the gigs he promised, and i'm sorry i was wrong about the gaps but i don't think the mistake was that bad.
Well, he eventually promises to send me "something". i wait for a few weeks and a package arrives. i was surprised cause i thought i had made him angry (i was angry ) and had already discarded the whole trade. But i wasn't surprised when i opened the package and found not a single of the gigs i had asked for from him, but other gigs, of varying bad quality (with gaps! (heh!), i can only supose they were useless discs for him that he had made better versions of for himself already).
So i PMmed him about it, but never got a reply. Another thing is, i got less cds than had sent him, and to "add insult to injury" the empty cd-r was brandless haha
i know i made a mistake. i know i didn't act perfectly, but i don't feel i did anything to deserve this from him.
Well, the only conclusion for me is that, since this was my first time to trade with an american, and let's not forget americans can demand their money back if they don't like the movie they see, i'll never have dealings with those "wonderful friends of ours from across the sea" again.
Sure, there are complications to this story (like another gig i sent him also had gaps, but i told him about it never that it didn't have gaps, and that it's not of best quality, but it's really worth having cause of setlist), and the ones to his advantage i'm sure Petseri will bring to your knowledge, if anyone cares. However, from my point of view, i've said everything relevant to the story.
Sorry to have wasted your time by making you read this rant, but it's for my own peace of mind.
