so i just downloaded a track of the new blink 182 album. Apparently theve changed their style and this includes The Cure's frontman, Robert Smith on a few tracks.
Is this just some desperate ploy to get new listeners for smith? I honestly didnt think he'd stoop that low as to work with a crappy pop punk band like blink 182. Its not a very good song either. As always, he sounds great but when the blink 182 singers come in...
youl cry...just like i did

Yeah, a fanbase of obsessive teenage girls never does it. Just look at what happened to Robbie Williams. Better go for the French Cure completionists.

I hear the French are also very much into "Depeche Mode" - almost as much as the Band Members are "Into" The French

Fat Bob was brilliant until he lost it, bought out a couple of 'best of' compilations and proved he had become musically unhinged with that Mood Swings crap. If we were a more caring society we'ed have shot him then before he could have embarassed himself (and us) with this psuedo-punk kiddy fiddler record he's done now.
On the other hand he did about 16 good albums and is one of the few musicians who can truly claim to be a great artist in the truest sense of the word.
It just makes it all the sadder I suppose.
I'm off to smoke my pipe and remember the good 'ol days.

I dispute the '16 great albums' arguement (cos I can to quote).
Faith
Seventeen Seconds
Pornography
Head On The Door
Disintegration
That's it.

You should sit down with a nice bottle or two of red, take the phone off the hook, lock the door, log out from HL and sit down with your pipe and slippers (optional) and watch the whole of Trilogy on DVD.
The case for the defence rests M'lud!

I think he should collaborate with Busted, Will Young, and some half-arsed rappers next.
Join that fat famous(ish) people being shouted at by a drill sergeant program on the telly.
Sell out properly, don't just dip your toe in and slighly allow your songs to be used on adverts.

OMG no! The two would attract under the force of gravity and collapse to become a mini-black hole!
