Munster or Hamburg?

One for all you experts out there, with the above 2 boots.
Recently recieved a boot Labeled Munster Odeon 1-9-83 but appears to have the set list of Hamburg Kir Club 31-8-83.
September 1 1983
Odeon, Münster, West Germany
Burn / Valentine / Anaconda / Heartland / Alice / Emma / Temple of Love / Floorshow / Gimme Shelter / Kiss the Carpet / Body Electric / Sister Ray
August 31 1983
Kir Club, Hamburg, West Germany
Burn / Valentine / Temple of Love / Alice / Adrenochrome / Body Electric / Kiss the Carpet / Heartland / Anaconda / Emma / Floorshow / Gimme Shelter / Lights / Sister Ray
The gig is almost certainly German as Eldritch talks mainly in German, the only other give away is inbetween kiss and Heartland , when while Eldritch is talking in German ,Adams or Marx yells in English "The next person who chucks a Fcukin bottle gets his head kicked in"

So would i be right in thinking this is the Hamburg Gig?

For years ALL boots of Munster were actually of Hamburg. It's only fairly recently the real (edit)MUNSTER materialised and proved we'd all had a fake MUNSTER for years and years.

The 2 tracklists you quote are (sortof) correct, so you should be able to work out which one you gave. The version of Sister Ray at Hamburg is really weird. Eldritch doesn't do any vocals, with Adams doing a few vocals near the end.

Getting back to the MUNSTER tracklists being sortof correct. The audio is of the correct gig, but someone has messed around with the running order of the tracks. So while some people have the genuine MUNSTER, some complete twatter has messed around with the track order to make the tracklist the same as the fake version.

I'm told the correct track order for MUNSTER should be-

Burn, Valentine, Temple Of Love, Alice, Adrenochrome, Kiss, Heartland,
Anaconda, (ghostriders in the sky) Emma, Floorshow, Gimme Shelter, Sister Ray

And I just realised that that tracklist contains Adrenochrome instead of Body Electric, so I'm confused about this one.

Im still trying to work this one out , so i downloaded part of the "The Damage is done" bootleg from Jen´s site :notworthy: , which is supposed to include part of the munster gig.
A1. The Damage Done B2. Valentine
A2. Watch B3. Anaconda
A3. Teachers-Adrenochrome B4. Temple of Love
A4. Sister Ray B5. Adrenochrome
A5. Gimme Gimme Gimme (a Man After Midnight) B6. Kiss the Carpet
B1. Burn B7. Body Electric

Recording notes
A1-A4 Live Warehouse, Leeds, 4 May 1981.
A5 Live Danceteria, New York City, 13 April 1984. (Erroneous date on sleeve).
B1-B4, B6-B7 Live Odeon, Münster, 1 September 1983.
B5 Live Odeon, Münster, 1 September 1983. The track isn't included on any of the live tapes I've seen from this date. It's possible that it wasn't played, and that the version on the bootleg is a fake. The production of the bootleg makes it difficult to say for sure. Also note that the song order is odd compared to the audio tapes.
If these are from Munster , They are versions different to the ones on mine . The crowd are still speaking in German so it would be reasonable to assume that this is from Munster as its not the Berlin Loft Club (and Berlin ,Hamburg and Munster were the only german dates that year )
So therefore my gig is actually Hamburg.....I think
Or am i missing something else?

If it's off a vinyl boot it's almost probably Hamburg KIR.

I'll listen to my real Munster (but with tracks in the wrong order, allegedly) and see if old Eldo says anything helpful between songs.

BURN
"thankyou. (something in German)...Hippies. Doesn't matter"
VALENTINE
ANACONDA
HEARTLAND
ALICE
(guitar plays a little bit from Ghostriders In The Sky. audience sing along.)
Eldo speaks a few lines but I can't make it out.
an audience member shouts for body electric
EMMA
(something else I can't make out)
TEMPLE OF LOVE
FLOORSHOW
GIMME SHELTER
KISS THE CARPET
(someone shouts for body electric. someone really near the mic says jolene. Eldo says "only if somebody gives me a drink")
BODY ELECTRIC
(audience member shouts "in heaven, everything is fine")
SISTER RAY (sans vocals, apart from the drunk guy near the end.)

Mine is the correct gig, although it has edits between almost every song - some complete tw@tter has put out an edited version in order to keep their version rare, the c**t. Anyway, there's enough identifiers there I think. I believe there is a complete unedited version available now, I just haven't got around to getting it yet.

I edited my first post for errors where I said Hamburg when I meant Munster. Sorry for the confusion.

To clarify - Hamburg KIR was never in doubt - it's been around for years and has never been buggered about with, it's Munster thats in question.

Then it looks like you have the Munster gig!

...Unless it contains BOTH quotes, then we really are in trouble!

4. Alice
5. Body Electric
6. Kiss The Carpet
7. Heartland
8. Anaconda
9. Emma
10. Floorshow
11. Gimme Shelter
12. Sister Ray(Instr.)

Mine was from Robin too. Do you think he had it on CD and stuck it in random play so everyone gets a different version?

I got mine a while back, as far as I recall Robin told me (then) that he hated CDRs, so probably not.

I think my tape was orignally destined for Tobias Dorf and I got it after a trade with him went bad :?

I was being sarcastic.

I wonder why people can't leave the recording alone instead of jumbling up the tracks. There's at least 4 different versions I know of so far.

My copy of Munster came from Methedrome about 3 years ago, and is the same version you both have. Sounds like the editing and jumbling up of the tracks was done using a tape deck...

There were also a gig in Moers at a club called Arrata, I know that because there is an article in german existing were this gig is mentioned. There is also a photo included. It's also here in the Imagebank

http://www.myheartland.co.uk/gallery/de ... age_id=126

As I grew up next to the Club, I knew this Club quite well and I can tell that the Photo was really shot in the Arrata.

Well, that puts it after the release of Reptile House in May, but before the American dates in September, the obvious choice being August with the other European dates.

As the Munster gig was on 1. September and one day before (31.8.) was the HAmburg gig, I guess it must have been 2. September or a bit later, because in that pressarticle Andrew is talking about the HAmburg gig ( and also about the "Bottle thrower") and also about a little Tour at the US Eastcoast as future plans!

Some time ago I tried to contact the owner of the Club if they have some Idea when the Sisters played exactly, but of course it isn't the same owner as it was in the early 80ies, although inside the Club are Posters from early 80ies gigs of famous german groups like "Die Ärzte" or "Toten Hosen" .

But no Sisters, unfortunatley......
