[cover] Alice by Celluloide

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Me like very much.

Frency synthpop rocks da house! IN YER PANTS!!! Plinky plonky Casio keyboards and toy drum machines, emotionless accented female vocals, groovy.

After the "Alice 2003" (or was it 2004? I seriously can't care enough) travesty, this is much more like it, plus it's in line with the Sisters' own cover version policy (take an established well known tune and make it over in your own style to such an extent that it may as well be an original) which never hurts.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Read what IZZY had to say. It says it all. And this was a nice collection. Very bee Boppy, but nice. I don't like beeBop that much.

Why is it that the cover of Alice by the Shroud on First and Last and Forever is really good, but the rest of the Shroud's stuff is turgid drivel?

Until I heard that dancey s**t that was on here a while back (Doctor Fuckwit, was it?) I'd have said that even a poor band can't wreck a good tune.

But now someone's driven a big hole through that theory, how did the Shroud manage it?

Friday night, I'm tipsy and so it's maybe not the best moment to pass judgement on other people's attemps but hey...
of all the "Alice" covers I've heard, and I think I've heard plenty even though I don't even recall all the names of the bands, well... even if the vocals seem listeneable in the begining, I say even if because they hardly ever are, no one is a patch on :von: when it comes to the "Alice, don't give it away" part. Just a thought...

You know what, I LOVE that! I love the whole e.p., in fact. Thank you for brightening up my day! Now, can someone tell me how to save the mp3s onto a cd in a format that I can listen to in my car?
Very loud?
Chris
