Great song, great band.
Funnily enough, I was playing their greatest hits t'other night.
I'd forgotten how good they were, in a laid-back, easy listning kinda way.

*shudder*

bland radio fodder designed to cause the least possible offence to those people working in shops, offices and factories that have to endure the local commercial radio station banging out the hits of the early/mid 90s all day long :(

i was quite pleased to note that david "wobbly head" grey stole their title of "king of the bland" last year ;)

Woooooooo you're such a cynic! Come on, you've gotta like 'Weather With You'.

We live in a society which believes in freedom of speech. You are, therefore, entitled to be wrong.

You do know that the vast majority of society would argue that the reverse was true, don't you?

;D Of course.

Maybe I should rephrase: To be considered broad-minded one has to listen to cr ap? ;)

Bloody goths. so arrogant to dismiss music they don't like as 'crap' (Yeah, like you can trust a goth for an opinion on ANYTHING)

Fact is, goths DO tend to be very sheltered and closed-minded. It's a shame.

I don't particularly like crowded house, but I acknowledge that the Finn brothers are good songwriters. When I hear their stuff, I don't think URRGH! WHAT'S THIS RUBBISH! THEY AREN'T SINGING ABOUT BATS OR CATS OR FUNERAL PROCESSIONS! AND THE LEAD SINGER CAN ACTUALLY SING!; A song can be judged on it's individual merit.

The absurdly insular gothic mindset is the primary reason why goths became such a laughing stock. :innocent: :P

OK! Don't blow a gasket! I don't just listen to songs about bats, cats and funerals.

However I don't like Crowded House. Their songs are in my opinion weak, insipid and unispired. Like far too much early 90's music it's just instantly forgettable. OK I used "cr ap" as a shorthand for this, being too lazy to actually type it all out, but it was not just an ill-considered knee-jerk reaction, OK?

As for the divine Ms. Parton, I was listening to her music at my parents' knees.

Narrow minded? I hope not!

Crowded House are most perfect accompaniment to Ibician famhouse villas, relaxing by the pool with a large glass of something ridiculously cheap and insanely intoxicating with more than a dash of blazing hot sun.

HOWEVER, it's Chemicals bros and Leftfield for midnight , up on the flat roof dancin....
