Willow Festival - July - Peterborough

OK. A chance for all you budding popstars to play for me at Europe's largest FREE festival.

Run a google search on 'willow festival' and you'll pick up fragmented info through various sites.

and you'll see the 2003 line-up.

The official site www.willowfestival.org.uk is currently being updated.

Contrary to what you may also read, the council haven't withdrawn their funding and it is still going ahead.

Contact Mark Ringer at willowfestival@aol.com

It's a great greenfield site in town on the embankment down the river. 5 mins walk from the city centre, 10mins from the train station. Blue ( :urff: ) played there last September and Busted ( :urff: ) are scheduled also for July so it's an up and coming site/venue. The sun always shines and people get very drunk. If 32,000 people over two days diesn't appeal to your egos maybe 20 fans in Heartland t-shirts might. Peterborough is very accessible from the North, South and the Midlands.

If they try to build a motorway or airport near my house I become a NIMBY. When it comes to The Willow Festival I become a YIMBY.

What are you waiting for? :D

Oh yes Ms Strange. Norwich is 40mins by train, London 50mins, Birmingham 50mins and even Leeds is only 90mins away. It's just so accessible. If any of the boys get a gig I'm expecting to go HL t-shirt spotting ... 8)

Not as yet Mr G. As soon as I hear something I'll let you know. Originally it was just 'July', then cancelled when the council pulled the funding, then they changed their mind and it's back on, then the proposed date appears to have been changed as Busted ( :urff: ) are coming to town ...

If emilystrange was asked who has got to go and see B*****d within the next few weeks, then she might tell you. Then again she might not.

Hey, I did Blue last year with my 12 year old daughter. We live in a very strange world and after that experience nothing fazes me anymore ...
