May 1959 - What the f**k was going on?

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

While messing about with that cool 'everyhit' website, I found out that pretty much the ENTIRE British alternative scene was born in May 1959.

5th may 1959 - Ian McCulloch (Bunnyman/Electrafixion)
12th may 1959 - Billy Duffy (Nosebleeds/the Cult)
15th may 1959 - Andrew Eldrith (Sisters/Sisterhood)
22nd may 1959 - Morrissey (Nosebleeds/the Smiths)
28th may 1959 - Steve Strange (Visage + general geniusness)

spooky, eh? kinda reminds me of that 'Village of the Damned' film; a load of prodigies born at the same time.

Maybe sometime in August 1958, an intellectual love god from outer space impregnated all their mums...
