Whilst I have found a Dukla Prague Away kit I am struggling to find an a FC St Pauli kit or Merciful Release banner advertising.

My brothers and I used to club together with our pocket money to buy it for what seemed like years during the late 60s/ early 70s. We had the football, cricket and even the rugby. The football was the only one really worth having though. So many teams. Because it belonged to all three of us, we left it at my parents once we'd left home. Big mistake. Everything has since been totally trashed by grandchildren. I blame my brothers' kids of course. We used to have Leeds United with the names of the classic 70s team lineup written on the box underneath the slot for each player.

I always wanted a Man Utd v Man City set when I was a kid. The Utd kit at the time looked so very "George Best"

Sadly I never got one. My parents deemed it inappropriate.

I've seen the Rugby set though and I know what you mean about the kickers!

I went out with a bloke and he was a HUGE Subbuteo fan. He had all the gear absolute shedloads of it, but not once in our 18 month relationship did I see him actually PLAY Subbuteo (and I did offer to be taught!) or a game of real football. But he knew all the BARCODES of ALL the teams you could get. I used to test him on bizarre football strips of the world and he would get them right ALL THE TIME. Even Quatar under 13's reserves (okay I made that one up but you get the idea)

Actually, I know damn well (or at least I hope!) that you mean the numbers, but it's still pretty much anorak territory!

Subbuteo? Yes. But ANYONE who knows the barcode number of ANYTHING is certifiable in my book.

Yes, that's what I meant Thrash. Subbuteo in and of itself isn't anorak territory.

Interesting factoid (although I'm sure all you anoraks

will already know) that Subbuteo got its name from the Hobby Hawk Subbuteo subbuteo because its inventor thought, "well, this football game is a hobby..."
