Here here.
I've only heard 2 Franz Ferdinand songs though, have they got an ironic HMHB type sense of humour? If they have that I like them - if they;re taking themselves seriously I'm not so sure.

... can I just say I think HMHB are awful?
allas have done, right back to Peel sessions and 'Back In The DHSS'
Banal pub conversations set to (poor) music IMO.
must be an English thing

i think so. tracks like "shopping for blood" are quite amusing ("we are the new scottish gentry!" indeed) and "van tango" show a playful side to their lyrics.

they might be a tad artschool at times (a la pulp) but they can't half bang out a good tune with a catchy beat. :D

Banal pub conversations set to (poor) music is what makes them great.

Actually going to see His Bobness in a few months.
Saw FF as support to Interpol nearly half a year ago.
Artschool Jerky Boys.
Not my thing.

I think Franz Ferdinand are to Orange Juice (or perhaps Josef K)what Interpol are to the Chameleons. They're both great fun tho'!
