In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. What's your preference? How do you mix yours? I've got a couple of ideas myself but with a gallon I'm free to experiment. Suggestions welcome.

I've mentioned here the recipe for Vodka Martini Dean Martin; perhaps a similar one with gin would suit?

Personally, I really don't like gin but there you go.

the classic g&t

add 4 ice cubes to an empty glass
rub a slice of lime (NOT LEMON!!!) around the rim of the glass
squeeze a few drops of lime into the glass, over the ice
drop the slice into the glass
pour the gin over the ice & lime
add tonic

The Dean Martin Show should be re-run...he was supposed to be carrying a drink around with him during the show...but i remember hearing somewhere that infact he only carried a glass of apple juice on the set...the numerous mistakes that were kept in the show were due to him not taking time out to learn the script or follow the cues...and he would adlib like anything while interviewing a guest...
