how to restaurate a sisters record

well, we had the question about dr. jeep ant its track lenghts recently....and i had to look at my sam promo 12" of dr. j which i bought in 1990. this record decided to spend a day in the sun causing a very wavy transformation - and is now unplayable.
has anybody of you tinkerers ever tried to reshape such a bloody platte? a ruther stupid question, i know......

2 sheets of 12"+ sized glass and an oven on very low, with the door open, give it 30 mins., leave to cool and Bob's yer Aunties live-in-lover! :D

It cured a very wavelike Obscured By Clouds I had in student days.

Or, if you have the same cooking skills that I have, you may be best to put it in a pile of 12" stacked on top of one another for a couple of weeks.

I did this with my copy of Fields Of The Nephilim - Burning The Fields EP which I bought very cheap coz it was warped and unplayable. It is very playable now!

i thought of heat and pressure also
good to know that you guys already tried it :-)

i'll give it a try and hope that mr jeep is not too fractious...

Gentle pressure over a sustained period has never failed for me, so I'd strongly advise you try that before subjecting it to heat. A few heavy books of the right size stacked on top of it is another option here.
