Albums you love but forget about until you find them again

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. I am currently having one of those evenings when I am searching through my music collection for inspiration and so far I have found, well......re-unearthed(??) "Heartwork" by Carcass, "Mental funeral" by Autopsy, "Slowly we rot" by Obituary and ".......for victory" by Bolt Thrower so it's a bit of a 90's death metal fest in my flat at the mo', but I'm not embarrassed not one little bit! :oops: :innocent: (Had the p!ss taken throughout school etc..and rightly so you may think). BUT! My question is what albums do you possess that make you go "OH MY GOD THIS ALBUM IS BRILLIANT I HAVEN'T HEARD IT FOR AGES I FORGOT I HAD IT I MUST PUT IT ON NOW"?? Well.........? :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Dark metal?

Just drove to Wigan listening to My Dying Bride. Turn Loose the Swans, Gods of the Sun and Angel and the Dark River.

It seemed appropriate. And when I got there, it was.

Coming back was two new purchases: the Noise for Destruction EP, which was much better than expected, and Qntal III (thanks to Doomwolf for the recommendation). Plus 606 and similar sports-related excitement.

Question is, will Rubicon's What Starts, Ends ever become an album I rediscover and conclude is really great?

Answer is, no it won't. Because it's turgid crap.
Names are just a souvenir ...

A great album! Although I do prefer Perverse.

I listen to The Cure - Mixed Up about once a year and think "what a fantastic album" then don't listen to any Cure again until the next year. Just one of those bands I can't listen to repeatedly. Doesn't mean they're not great though.

I mentioned "2nd Coming" in the "Currently Listening" thread on Friday; it must be the first time I've listened to that album in at least three years. I'd truly forgotten how good it is.

I listened to a Cubanate CD for the first time in years on Saturday. On Sunday morning I had the worst migraine of my life. Coincidence? I think not!

They played in SA once, but I never went to see them, they weren't worth the trip to JHB, my friend got me a signed poster from the gig.
