try www.snapfiles.com (used to be www.webattack.com) and in the freeware section you'll find what you're after

I've now got ad-aware and spyblaster installed, and funnily enough my PC seems to work a bit quicker. Fancy that.

http://www.kephyr.com/spywarescanner/index.html worked for me. does anyone get that really annoying 'internet optimizer' thing instead of an error page? this fixes it
