Personally

It makes me pretty f**kin' proud that my favourite band in the world still has the pulling power to headline such a prestigious event as Alive?

Right up there with such famous bands as T42.

They probably don't have much notice before hand because the festival is competing with the local flowershow or some such thing.

and it gets worse, support to the Levellers, what is that about?????????

Good luck Rob but no I don't think so.

@ Rob

why Glasgow :???:

it surely depends where you are travelling from?

I mean UK gigs yeah, no probs

Probably my pride wouldn't let watch them at Whitby Festival.

When they are on one of their own tours, well then you can still pretend they are something and do matter.

@Ez, I just mentioned Glasgow as an example of somewhere it's bloody expensive to get to on the train these days, however as I'll be in london on the 27th July anyway, I can get a return to Brussels for £19.50 from Ryanair, an the train to the festie town is blimmin reasonable too ;D bloody hell, UK public transport is daft these days.

PS. Shhh, don't tell anyone, but I helped out at the first two or three Whitby goff-dos... Cripes, hip-hop credentials out the window there ;D Never mind, I was young, and I soon learned...

@Izzy, do you know how easy it will be to get from Brussels to St Vith/the festival at all? If I can get tickets I'll only be able to arrive at Brussels airport on the morning of the 28th

@Robf

There's no direct train connection between Brussels and Sankt Vith. You can take the train as far as Verviers, and then take the bus/taxi/hitchhike to Sankt Vith. However, the last bus back to Verviers leaves on 17.40, according to the Alive-website!
More info as I get it...

I don't mind about getting back, I'll sleep in a hedge if needs be, but I'll have to look into whether it's possible to get from Brussels to the Festival site in about 5 hours :???:

Well, trying to answer Ziggy's and Rob's question in one answer: by car, Sankt Vith is a two-hour drive at the max from Brussels. Taking the train to Verviers and then the bus to Sankt Vith will probably take double this time I guess...

if you mean at the Bex Rock Festival in Switzerland, the Sisters are NOT supporting Levellers, the Sisters ARE HEADLINERS, they have the main slot of the evening!
