MODEY LEMON all barely twenty have quickly built a reputation as Pittsburgh's finest. Equal parts late 60's garage, 70's boogie and early nineties grunge filter through punk from all three decades to create their sound.
THUNDER + LIGHTNING is a collection of songs drawing on a timeless tradition of eerie American gothic, steeped in mythology their lyrics are literary explorations of sex and death. Be it the Suicide/MC5 inspired, debut single, 'Predator', the skin crawling 'Tongues (Everybody's Got One)', or the brutal and bloodied 'Enemy', these are dark, dank tales of recrimination and rancour, etched in disturbing detail. The album, released last year in the US on Birdman Recordings, features a different track listing and artwork to the American version.
Packed full of rock nuggets with dirty boogie tempos, challenging the listener with non-traditional idea's, everything from The Cramps to Iron Maiden to Suicide goes into the blender, gets distilled and comes out one very lethal brew.
