i have to write a piece like this for one of my classes. Im just too used to everything fitting into a neat pattern...therfore...its f**king confusing .

Is it music? or some kind of stupid point somehow related to music

no it's not....repetition can bring someone in a trance-like mood, which can be quite exstatic, also it helps noticing the small details....
for example
try listening to Philip Glass' "Koyaaanisqatsi" or "the hours" 's soundtrack....
it's never boring, it's original but minimalistic.....

Wetherspoons certainly believe in it with their food.

Can't explain it, but I have always found Mondrian's de' stijl compostitions very attractive.

I'm a great fan of Mondriaan RS. Have you ever seen any of his works "in the flesh"? I can't remember where it was that I saw them but they had a Mondriaan exhibit including a chronological series of "Tree" paintings.

Pretty much like this sequence: clicky.

You really see the De Stijl paintings in a new light when you see their antecedents.

I love Malevitch, but if you say Miro's a surrealist then Malevitch is no minimalist either but a suprematist

the painting I posted IS minimalistic imho....actually there's even absolutely nothing surrealistic about it

@sexygoth I always thought that that Dali was a bit too much....
I much prefer his toreador hallucinogene
but still, Dali was a genious, but I don't think you can only measure that on how many details one puts in his/her paintings....

and I agree with markfiend about the malevitch...I like it too....

Is that the fire at the warehouse? I'm not quite sure what to make of that. I'm quite upset that Tracey Emin's tent (I can't remember what it's called) has apparently gone; I've seen it and it's moving and disturbing at the same time. The same could be said about a lot of her work.

I like Damien Hirst's conceptual sculptures, but his abstract painting leave me a little cold. He doesn't seem to be saying anything with them.

As for Jake and Dinos Chapman, I'm sorry to say it but IMO their stuff is better off burnt.
