The Good Mr Eldritch

I was speaking to a guy last week who did the PA for The Sisters on the 1985 tour (though he says it might have been earlier...)

He said Andy was such a nice guy that as a thankyou for the tour he took 5 of them to that years European Cup Final, with all expenses paid for by the good man himself.

How sweet.

He also said he hasn't seen :von: for years as he's turned into a hermit.

How sweet.

Any other stories about Von having a heart out there???

for some reason, he seems to be nicer to people who aren't in the band

Yep, a reminder of how bad things were (and still are ?)

Never Forget:

The horrific scenes at the Heysel stadium unfurled shortly before the European Cup final when Liverpool fans charged towards Juventus supporters, causing a dividing wall to collapse and crushing fans to death. The final death toll was 39 - most of the victims were Italians.

Never Forget:

Bradford, Hillsborough......

Tragedies indeed, and if this were the final the Von took his crew to, I feel sorry for anyone who was witness to such atrocious behaviour and such a needless waste of life.

You call it "the bad old days", any footie fan who visits Hillsborough/Bradford etc STILL remembers, I know we lay a wreathe each year, whether we play em or not.

Never Forget.

By saying "a reminder of how bad things were" I express my hope that this will never happen again... and yes it should be remembered.
