Not for self

Head-turner chick, probably CDE social level, engaged in the street by personable, educated and presentable gent pulling down serious cash and able to refer knowledgeably to things like films and books and stuff. Unburdened by a micropecker too, you may assume.

Questions:

1. Ought she to feel flattered?
2. What chance does he have?
3. Is he demeaning himself?

I only ask in an effort to unpick the socioethical innards of an event both commonplace and largely unremarked upon.

Hyde Park last night, about 7pm. Heading home. Phone call. Stop to talk. Standing there chatting. Japanese bird walks past. Gives uncle the eye. Gaze flicks down at uncle's packet, then up again for eye to eye. Two minutes pass. Another Nagasaki knob nailer. Same thing, this time no packet checking. They can't have been more than 20 years old, man.

What made Japanese girls so forward?

Help me Therese. I am a good man.

No.

Eye contact in the street or on the tube. Chubby wood. A secret stream glistens. You move in for the kill:

I say! Weren't you at school with Harriet and Fleur before Charlie got his wombat?

But threats are so often empty.

Damned if I do, or damned if I don't?
