Poison Door

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

The Ghost Dance website seems to be offline at the moment, but that nice Mr Marx added another item to his own site:

It's a good song, Poison Door.

Anybody have the Psychedelic Sessions bootleg? It has the Peel Sessions from '83 and '84.

The '83 session (I think it's '82 actually) are worse sound quality than on other bootlegs (namely Radioland) yet the '84 session sounds better for some reason, really cleaned up. Particularly the version of Poison Door, which is superior to the recorded version (the Peel version is faster and smoother).

Anyone have thoughts on the lyrics? I love some of the lines...

Hmmm... Gary Marx. That anthemic guitar-playing style of his could've landed him a gig or two with Big Country, me thinks.

Hmmm... Poison Door. The song is about heroin, is it not?
.... there is no semblance of rock 'n roll around here!

Not thought about it before but methinks the biscuit doth speak verily.

Fuck knows why I replied in cod-Shakespearean English but there you go. ;D
