If you enjoyed The Bassment on Sunday...

i shall be be doing a 1hr guest DJ slot at Black Sheep this coming sunday, 4th july
the alloted time slot for guest djs is 8.30-9.30pm i gather
see
http://www.sheepish.net/bsfaq.htm for more details (when yer man paul gets around to updating it
)
btw, when they don't have a band playing, the night is usually held at the phono (they have to move to the bassment so that they can fit everyone in... and use smoke machines
).
anyways, the next sunday night "black sheep" is back at it's usual location at the phono, so if anyone in the locale fancies hearing some more "tad goth" (:urff:) tunes played by my good self, come one down (as mr crowther would say)
i feel another spurt of leeds/merciful release tunes coming on - sisters, james ray, salvation, march violets, ghost dance, lorries, etc etc - along with a few curve-ball tracks
fwiw, its a pretty good night there anyway, regardless of who djs. but its worth mentioning that the more goth-types turn up the less bleepy nonsense they play... see you there?

Bleepy-nonsense is ace! Bloomin' trad (or tad) goths.
Can't do Sunday, but largely because I'm out on Friday, at Batfink. Here's hoping they play that Sisters / Beavis & Butthead track. The Ying Tong Never Dies number by Goons / Apop also sounds rather fab. One can only imagine.

I'll come!!!
I'm back from my jaunt in Spain (which looks like resulting in a native People's Republic person moving out there for good next year...) so I need a good Sisters related sesh.
I'll get my mate that let me down for Whitby to come too. & if he lets me down... f*ck him, I live about 20 mins from Leeds anyway so it don't make any difference to this beeeatch...

Was that intentional or a typo? Is it yours or did you pinch it? I'd copyright it if I were you. Had me chuckling all day. Very apt.

well i enjoyed that
a quality night on the whole, very "trad" too!
my set ran thus:
Leslie Gore - Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows
The Cure - Grinding Halt
Love and Rockets - Ying and Yang and the Flower Pot Man (remix)
Fad Gadget - Collapsing New People
James Ray & The Performance - Dust Boat
Ghost Dance - Where Spirits Fly
Play Dead - Shine
The Sisters of Mercy - Heartland
The Chameleons - Swamp Thing (request)
Crazyhead - Have Love, Will Travel
Lords Of The New Church - New Church
The Sisters of Mercy - Emma (<-- can you believe no f*cker danced to this?!? incredible! heathens
)
Danielle Dax - Big Hollow Man
Marc Almond & The Willing Sinners - Ruby Red
The Cure - Close To Me (request)
Xmal Deutschland - Incubus Succubus II
there were a handful of tracks that i was going to play but i must admit that once up there, i bottled it and played a couple of requests instead
it took the crowd long enough to get on the dance floor at the start of the night, i didnt really want to be responsible for clearing it with gary glitter, kon kan & franz ferdinand!
anyways, a class night all told. plenty of top tunes to shake my booty too - and even UTG as last record!!
GET IN!
thanks to mr "phono paul" as ever
night night
