The Sisters were brillent in the early eightys, they were brillent in the late eightys. Something went wrong hear. F&L&A is a huge step backword after 1983's Reptile House EP. Basically you have weak songs aimd at Donny Ozmand's fan base, Wayne Hussy (or Huzzy at this time) playing like bad 12 string guitar. A band on the rocks trying to pander to get chart sucsess. Ironic as the chart sucsess came with the Floodland LP which has no real singles, and of course a reworking of the pre F&L&A 'Temple of Love'. There are few highlights 'Black Planet' is a good song ruind by a Huzzy guitar part that sounds like a Greek Restaraunt. This line up of the Sisters was week, this album shows that. It is sad then that people feel the need to copy it, even down to the metronomic guitar playing.

Another good one, although this reviewer may have had a reason to be so negative:
[quote]
Little Andy E., the pale ponce, spews forth another scary assortment of noises that go pompous in the night. Only This Corrosion comes close to any real emotion or even the kind of "big dark rawk" grandeur that Bro Sister was evidently aiming for. Even as an old friend of the elegant Ms. Morrison, I have to give this one a black-fingernail-polished thumbs-down.

Edit: me quote tags ain't working, sorry.

The best thing about the album was the cover. Nice to know they actually took some time to write "Money" because the rest of the album sounds completely the same. Fortunately, they got it right when they released WYWH. If WYWH had DSOTM album cover, it would have been the biggest selling album of all-time.
