And why is it that no other nation on God's fair Earth can produce anything to match the humble British biscuit?

Don't get me wrong, I love my international cuisine.

But when travelling the one "luxury" item that comes from home is always a packet of chocolate digestives. Comfort food, indulged all over Europe from Moscow to Myrdalsjokull; Copenhagen to Compostela.

If there is a heaven, and if I ever get there, I expect - nay demand - an unlimited supply. That, and battenburg cake.

Although I like a good biscuit as much as the next man, my own personal nomination for the zenith of British cuisine has to be...

Marmite

Salad cream is gross. Anything like that - mayonnaise, you name it. Utterly utterly gross.

Gimme mustard.

Marmite has long been a major part of my start to the day. Not by the spoonful though. On cold, buttered toast. Don't try it on Rizzlas. You won't fool anyone.

This is for spoonfuls. :notworthy:
