Staying in control

As a control freak I try to avoid things not going my way, and I fvcking hate it when they don't. To an interviewer's question about personal weaknesses, for example, I am prone to blurting: I fvcking hate it when I don't get my way. I go home and stew on it like a cvnt for ages. It takes days to get over it.
But as we grow older we seek wisdom and new ways of processing set backs.
This is an interesting and reflective thread where I'm asking what approach you take.

it depends how precious the thing that isnt going my way is.
if i care about it, then i will blow of a little steam, and then regain my calm and attempt to steer it back on track.
if i couldnt care less then i will chuckle, shrug my shoulders and "pity the fool" who is running the show.
and then there's all shades of colours for things inbetween.
i tend not to get too pi$$ed off for long as that's just counter productive.

i take the totally realistic view that things may not go my way and then try and plan for when they don't. doesn't stop me getting stressed and telling all about it, but at least i usually have plan B.

Personally, I try to take it all as a joke. OK things don't go my way from time to time, then this:

But if one tries to cultivate the ability to just laugh it off, then the universe does have a sense of humour.
OK, it is a black sense of humour...

Absolutely. Stay in control and you'll almost always f**k everyone else off who's pi$$ing you off at the time. Sooner or later. Just a question of willpower really.
Of course, you can discount the above when it's something life-threatening like the last five minutes of a footy match.

SWOT harder
analyst - retreat more
expressive - shout more
driver - demand more
amiable - acquiesce more
look inside yourself, not all people ain't no good
