Hi,

I'm quite obsessed with the two-headed eagle T-shirt that Tony James used to wear during the Vision Thing era. Can anyone tell me what the hell is this garment all about?

Cheers.

there's a similar design on the LP bag for Robert Calvert's (ex Hawkwind, now deceased) first solo album Captain Lockheed and the Starfighters

Heretic that I am, I've seen roughly 10 pics of TSOM. Shudder to think, but I'm more fond of listening to the music than staring at the pics .

Although, staring at :von: isn't an entirely unpleasant notion. Off to the imagebank...

Well, can't help you on where to find that exact shirt, but I know there are places on the web where you can send them a picture (of anything, even a two-headed eagle :D ) and they will screen it onto a shirt. I don't know where you live but if you have a Kinkos (the microsoft of the printing world) nearby, they offer that service. The fee for that sort of thing is usually nominal and will save you the stress of having to ask a half-wit like me where to find one :innocent:

Cheers,

I'll use Kinkos... I would see myself in a silly situation asking the very top hat man for a sweaty shirt.

well, I finally did it!!! After a nice research in google, where I found out that this two-headed eagle has multiple meanings, such as the Albanian shield, I asked Mr. Tony James where could I found one!!! Thanks for the tip, Quiff Boy!

or you could just make a stencil and paint it on...

Do they screen it on like a real shirt (i.e. high quality and non-peeling) or is it an iron on thing? I never have much luck with the iron-ons :?

Most of them will let you choose what sort of material and style you prefer. A few of them do iron-ons (you can usually tell by price which one does this), but most of them use silkscreening.

You can silkscreen it yourself using supplies from a craft store (about $10-15 including shirt), but that takes time, patience, and a fair amount of skill.

It really is easier to go to a place like Kinkos and have them do it for you (you bring in your own shirt).

Wow real silk screening and everything! I'll have to check that out; In response to those shirts that were kind of in with the cool kids for a while that say "Jesus is my Homeboy" I've started painting ones that read "Moses is my Homeboy," so maybe I can market them to my synagogue to sell to the kids so they don't feel left out and kinko's can mass produce them for me.

Or maybe I've just been out in the sun too long...

Kinko's is really impressive, though. I guess now you can send something to get printed and picked up at any other Kinko's for REALLY cheap (my friend paid less than two bucks for 18 pages) so if you need to get something to someone w/out email it can really come in handy.

I used Kinkos when I was in Vancouver. I found that if you hit CTRL+P instead of the Print icon and typed in the amount of copies of the document you wanted to print, you only got charged for 1 copy. I printed out 50 copies of something and only got charged for 1.
