I know Andrew is in love with this machine. Does anyone out there know any patch that sounds similar to any Sisters song?
I would really appreciate an answer!!!
Cheers.

I don't think it's actually been used on a Sisters album, save for perhaps the mythical "new" album...
Are you looking for a guitar sound or a keyboard sound? IIRC, the A3 is just a multieffects unit Andrew likes the distortion on for recording demos.

Well, I was looking for some professional ideas for guitar effects, since I am so tired of getting the same s**t sounds.
Thanks anyway.

line6 pod xt
http://www.line6.com/podxt/
or maybe the rack-mount version:
http://www.line6.com/podxtpro/US/features.htm
i've got the pod's little brother, the "guitar port" and its fantastic.
http://www.guitarport.com/
the pod xt can be patched into the same software as the guitarport and thus can offer you thousands of combinations of "virtual" amp heads, speaker cabs, reverb/echo/delay/chorus/flange/distortion/etc settings in addition to those already on the pod unit. and they can be dumped onto the pc and edited/stored/etc
superb
bloody marvellous

I second THAT.
We recorded our whole demoCD on the Line 6 pod and it is fabulous.
Or try the Behringer V-amp, but be aware that it is not as good as the Line 6 and tends to give a lot of noise when combined with other Behringer equipment.
BTW, I bought this cutie for my laptop. It is the best buy I ever did.
A recommendation for all home-recorders working with a laptop (not so much people do this actually, but I use the laptop to make recording at our rehearsals).

The POD is great for direct recording but the problem lies when you try
to amplify the sod in a live setting, you have to be careful or the sound becomes coloured and muddy.
It's weird, I've heard the POD sound amazing through a pair of 2 quid walkman headphones and utter crap through a 3000 quid amp. You need to experiment. Doesn't Adam use a POD these days?
The best I've ever heard it was through a pair of Korg KC series keyboard amps, no sound coloration.
Still I'm happy with my POD 2.0 and I've got a killer Dave Gilmour patch that I use for practically everything !!!

Well, be sure to PM me when you think of selling the guitar port - I may well be interested. I need something to expand the effects of my Zoom 4040...

I know, but I'm "between jobs" at the moment, and 90 quid is 360 much needed Marlboro...

From what I've read on the internet (standard disclaimers apply), the 4040 isn't that much better than the 505.
The expression pedal on mine broke, but that's no great loss (if I want a wah-wah then I'll use my Jim Dunlop - far more robust for stomping on).

can't be worse anyway....I remember playing with my mexican strat and 505 for 3 years, thinking I really sucked at playing guitar, until I playes once on a friend's parker fly with a pod....realizing I could play the 2 metallica's "4 horsemen" solo's without any single mistake....at the same pace of course....
since then I proceeded playing on my crappy material, I don't have money to buy anything else....
