bridges burning -
if you listen very carfully, you can hear wayne playing the main line during the soundcheck of glasgow 85 - it also took me some time to figure that out - and this snippet was the reason to start this thread actually

it was a compilation with some awful German bands, only redeemed by The Mish and The Cure actually.

This has always interested me. I would have thought that the tunes that Wayne took with him are the ones that he had written or am I just being silly???

I seem to remember an early version of Love Me To Death kicking around, with diffrent lyrics. Don't know if it was pre or post Sisters though...

Lotsa stuff in Wayne's original Dance on Glass lyrics which made it into other songs too, mostly Naked and Savage.

Roll of the thunder
Kiss and the scream
Hold out my arms and scars start to show
Howling for the glory of the innocent
But don't despair for the shame I know
The taste of ash on my tongue
Faith and prayers, wanton dust
Chanting strangers, blood on their cheeks
Haunt my dreams all covered in blood

Dance
Dance on glass
Saints and martyrs

Dance
Dance on glass
Saints and martyrs

Tarnish, taint and punish me softly
Cut that bleeds and burning skin
Screaming in the darkness torn and ragged
For the love of god, my dreams look dim
So...

Dance
Dance on glass
Saints and martyrs

A whisper and a promise lit on fire
Kiss the hand where the angels dread
Love is the corpse that draws on dreams
Rips them apart and tears them to shreds
So...

Dance
Dance on glass
Saints and martyrs

Tarnish, taint, and punish me softly
Hold out the heat and burning skin
Screaming in the darkness torn and ragged
For the love of god, my dreams look dim

A whisper and a promise lit on fire
Kiss the hands where the angels dread
Love is the corpse that draws on dreams
Rips them apart and tears them to shreds
So...

Dance
Dance on glass
Saints and martyrs

Dance,
Dance on glass

There is a post-Sisters "Love Me To Death" with different lyrics, available
on an full-set rehearsal boot.

Blimey, Mession lyrics don't come over well in print, do they? What on EARTH is all that fifth-form garbage about? (apart from selling records and getting laid)
