Old fan, but just found the board

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Glad to have found other people who are as obsessed with the Sisters as I am :notworthy:

Why don't you ask the kids at Tiananmen Square
Was fashion the reason why they were there?

How do I change my rank?
In general you cannot directly change the wording of any rank (ranks appear below your username in topics and on your profile depending on the style used). Most boards use ranks to indicate the number of posts you have made and to identify certain users, e.g. moderators and administrators may have a special rank. Please do not abuse the board by posting unnecessarily just to increase your rank, you will probably find the moderator or administrator will simply lower your post count.
the ranks are based on your post count (don't go getting any ideas now! :lol: )

one or two people have their own "special" ranks... but don't worry, its not an elitist thing though - they just asked for 'em and i obliged - the only condition i apply is that your chosen "special" rank is at least feintly amusing ;)

if you look at the stats you can see the ranking system in operation:

http://www.myheartland.co.uk/statistics.php

basically:
Ranks
Road Kill = 0 - 99 posts
Amphetamine Filth = 100 - 249 posts
Gonzoid Amphetamine Filth = 250 - 499 posts
Utterly Bastard Groovy Amphetamine Filth = 500 - 999 posts
Slight Overbomber = 1000 - 1999 posts
Overbomber = 2000 - 4999 posts
Underneath the Rock = 5000 - 9999 posts
surprise = 9999+ ;)
some people like it, some think it encourages a poor "signal to noise ratio". me? i don't care either way. think of it as an alternative to a hobby ;) :twisted:

I suppose I'm in the same boat as Billy. I'm an old fan but came across this site only recently through Wishville. I've found it to be very good, you are all doing a marvellous job :P :!: as young Mr Grace would say.
