Rock Against PC Correctness

(Voice from The Other Side:)

"Today, institutions fundamental to the British system of Government are under attack: the public schools, the house of Lords, the Church of England, the holy institution of Marriage, even our magnificent police force are no longer safe from those who would undermine our society, and it's about time we said 'enough is enough' and saw a return to the traditional British values of discipline, obedience, morality and freedom.

What we want is:

Freedom from the reds and the blacks and the criminals
Prostitutes, pansies and punks
Football hooligans, juvenile delinquents
Lesbians and left wing scum
Freedom from the niggers and the Pakis and the unions
Freedom from the Gipsies and the Jews
Freedom from leftwing layabouts and liberals
Freedom from the likes of you..."

Discuss.

PC Correctness? The correctness is already implied in the "C" is it not?

"All you kids that just sit and whine
You should have been there back in '79
You say we're giving you a real hard time
You boys are really breaking my heart
Spurs beat Arsenal, what a game
The blood was running in the drains
Intercity took the trains
And really took the place apart
That was the year Nan Harris died
And Charlie Jones committed suicide
The world we knew busted open wide
In the winter of '79"

as long as its not the summer of '69.. *shudder*

was that the winter of discontent, or was it 77? now that was tricky

Very, very naughty.

This whole thread is being inspired by an attic clearout, the regalia of youth and frustration at today. :urff:

I sure the penny will drop with some EBG whilst the rest of you will think:

a) What the fcuks he on about?

b) I'm too young. The Sisters of Who ..?

c) How dare he mention Guy Gibson's (VC) dog?

:innocent:

I knew that!

You know, those words could have come directly out of the mouth of one perma-tanned Arab-hating ex-Beeb-chatshow host.

;D :notworthy:

Yah! Rummaging through the attic I went to longingly look at my Sisters vinyl. I then started going through the rest of my collection and came across TRB. All the original vinyl releases from 77-79 (singles and albums). More rummaging revealed the TRB badges (we thought we were cool back then  ) and some RAR posters/badges. Happy days. My first introduction to politics and a series of values that I've adherred to most of my life.

There's a nice site here TRB complete with downloads. And for all those with ants in their pants regarding my opening post, check out the lyrics to Power In The Darkness. It's the middle section and yes, is spoken by Tom in the guise of a conservative spokesman. Considering he was probably the first gay rock/pop star to come out, it was pretty radical stuff at the time.

But all this nostalgia is re-awakening the political animal in me and my current pet hate is PC correctness. Only this morning as I dashed around the kitchen, porky Eammon Homes on GMTV was wittering '...and when we come back after the break, we'll be teaching you how to address a black person and how important it is to do it correctly ...' What a twit. :x Address them by their name!

Anyway, Rock Against PC Correctness starts here. Back soon ...
