its not the whole gig - just the 2 von songs - and its not the greatest quality in the world, but yes, it exists... courtesy of our very own dan i believe 8)

i seem to recall it was uploaded to one of the yahoo "sistergroups" at one time... can anyone confirm & provide the url?

Maybe someone can compile a CD of Eldritch cameos, like the Utah Saints, the FC St. Pauli bass playing last year, and the Skeletal Family gig in 1985. Are there recordings available and in circulation for all of them?

Sadly that's all there is. If anyone else recorded it they never came forward. It actually sounded bad in the venue. They were holding gigs in it before it became the Town & Country Club (anyone care to remind me of the name cos I forgot) when it was nothing more than a draughty warehouse. The owners of the T & C made it less draughty but never bothered to sort out the acoustics. I saw the Ramones there and sound was equally as bad.

I was at that Ramones gig, late 92 supported by a young Terrorvision?

I think the venue was previously called the Colosseum.

I looked it up. Dec'92, it was still the T & C then. I saw the Mish there in 1990 when it was The Colosseum.

I don't think I paid much attention to Terrorvision, preferring to stay back near the bar.

The Mish actually played two gigs there - one fanclub only and the other the Off the Street Benefit. The NME hyped it as Eldritch/Hussey to share a stage shock. A disc promoting it all was released with a new Wasteland mix. I have a tape of the band playing the same venue in 1994. The PA is indeed around the lower end of the mix. Am I right is saying that a) the venue is now closed b) it used to be a cinema which might explain the sound problems?

a) the venue is now a huge student/townie nightclub called "evolution" (though i suspect devolution would be a better title) :urff:

b) no idea :|

Around about the time it was the Colosseum everyone I asked had never heard of the place before. It seemed to me to be a draughty old warehouse that may have been empty for decades.

At the Utah/Eldritch gig does anyone remember Eldo reclining on a funny little low balcony at the back so everyone could stare at him?

think von forgot the lyrics is all. read somewhere he started to mumble them coz he was so pissed he forgot :?

think it was the new mish line-up first gig. not too sure now :?

i was at the back near the bar (natch) till i saw von moving in from the side, then me and her ended up in the middle front row. her on my shoulders (sorry all the folk behind us  )

there is a full tape of the gig, just never bothered to track it down. not sure if dan did the whole gig, or if it's his source ? but anyway, there is :|

Didn't Von later complain that him and the Utah Saints were not able to rehearse because they (the Utah Saints) had been on TOTP?

correct, in the melody maker review

".. we didn't have time to rehearse, becuase they has forgotton about the wembley gig with U2 on Friday.......i had the cue sheet taped to the stage, but stupidly ignored it....i was somewhat lost and then had to start shouting because i couldn't hear myself in the monitors" (sort of thing)

There is an NME article about the whole thing - where the journo & Wayne stagger into Eldritch's dressing room. The whole thing was quite hilarious and spawned some great Eldritch' quotes (one about sticking a tongue on somebosy's ear?!).
